2009: A Gambler's Tale

Last night the train pulled into the station and stopped. But what a ride.

On Dec 31, 2008 I saw my final $1,700 go up in smoke on a CBB play. As the fireworks went off and the World celebrated, I hated what I had done to my bankroll.

A week later, I said to myself: I can win log-term, but it will take discipline. The discipline of a machine. I resolved that for each and every play I made, I would be a lock-solid expert on the game. I would know every rumour, stat, sneeze, etc, involving my play.

So I made my move and borrowed $4,000 from my bank. I won my first three bets. I quickly cashed-out $1,000 and gave it to my wife to silence her for my run on the books. Over the next two weeks I put together what you saw here. I had no time to talk, because it was all work.

This morning I took stock and finally got a chance to reflect. Not only did I pay off the $4,000 (and give $1K to my lady), I am still up $3,922.

Is it over? It's never over!
