Shiva, thanks a lot, pal. i appreciate the encouraging words. will definitely check out your thread. you are correct that the grind of the daily thread can really be a downer. loved watching games last night without a sweat and rooting for my practice card with no worries. initially was going to sit until at least the weekend but really like tonight's card. we'll see how it goes but feeling much more positive after the brief break. there is solace in the fact that it cannot get worse than it has been. BOL to you tonight.

Its always kind of scary teasing down favourites. Why not just play them on ML parlay? My honest advice, and I am not trying to be a dick, is that the 3 teams you have would make a good ML parlay, and you if you like to play teasers like I do then I would recommend teasing up dogs or 1-2 point faves. My two cents. BOL to you.

We can talk offline but until proven otherwise I'm pretty damm good at teasers. (40 years or so experience).

it's a really rough spot for Butler of the Gonzaga win (La Salle off loss at XU). they're still without Rotnei Clarke, La Salle is a tough place to play and it's not as if Butler has made this trip before. throw in that this is one of the fishiest lines of the year so far (begging for Butler money; opened at La Salle -1 even though kenpom says Butler -1 and line had headed the other way to -2') and i'll take the Explorers. La Salle is a good team

haha, thanks, Shiva. for what it's worth, the reason that i post is to make myself be accountable and not chase and go crazy (also, to discuss games with people like yourself, Bank, Pacocn, Madison, LK, Rick, etc.). i don't want to be a hero to a bunch of strangers blindly tailing picks and i hate attention. Miami is most physical team in ACC. only team close is Clemson. Maryland relatively tough too.

well, that's the borderline-existential question of this avocation: when you make a line that is off of the game line, is it value or is it a "message" from the book? here, i'm banking on the latter (and, it's worth noting that on a neutral court, i only have Butler as a two-possession fave vs La Salle). we both know that, over time, backing the unranked fave vs the ranked dog is a profitable strategy. and here, the line opened shaded strong to La Salle and continued to rise with the public clearly on Butler. someone smarter than me likes La Salle a lot (and i'm not just talking about Jinx).

part of the disconnect may be that i do like La Salle a fair amount as a team. i'm not looking so shrewd so far (Explorers down 28-23 at half), but La Salle missed their first 6 3PTs (now 2-9) and has shot 32% to Butler's 52%. room to improve 2H.

that might be part of the issue. Miami is a team of mean men. they just took Duke's lunch money 1H and Duke has beef while La Salle has nothing close to vs the U.

6-8 3PTs before first media timeout killed it, played under pace after that.

both Vols and Spiders lead at half. very tempted to play Ole Miss 2H to middle Vols. opened at -7, immediately jumped to -8. probably will pass. considering late ML parlay with AZ + UNLV + Zags at -121.
