For sure Nova..rent/cost of living is quite nice here in Texas. I'm in what one would say is a nice apartment..gated and the whatnot, like middle tier, 810 sq ft. But they do have lofts around here that run upwards of $1300-1400. Its nice as far as the living cost goes.

Another bet...a oh so sad lose. Nobody said this shit is easy. I do know that i'd much rather start rough than end rough. Still not too bad. I'll keep trucking along. I have a ways to go before the end of the month. If i'm down 2000, i'll just make a 4000 bet to recover and have a lil extra cash....I'm totally fkin joking by the way. I'll keep betting like i do, grinding the wins out..trying to create more of those than loses. I don't know if the people on here are hobby bettors, pros or just sports junkies. But if you've never given this a real shot and you've thought about it. You're getting a firsthand glance at someone making a go of it. I'll enjoy the ride either way, and i do appreciate the support i've gotten from you all.

You have to be trolling as bad as the OP is. I have serious doubts anyone sane would be trying to bet parlays and teasers to pay their bills....
Seriously you expect me to believe you are paying your bills with parlays and teasers? Let me guess your mother is your landlord that way if you don't pay you are fine.

dude you better star playing ONE game at a time flat or your dead meat. Anytime you need two and they need just one its a huge advantage for them. No matter GL. I also am in this to make money to do things that everyday life requires to get done..ie pay bill eat etc etc and ive learned ways to NEVER lose year to year/ Yes i said NEVER lose. Id did take 30 years to gain that knowledge through trials and tribulations but i did it and im not one of these dolts like dudley talking out my ass either. Its not even anything i cloud teach another to do really it just took all those years(and yes many many many of them losing good money) to get to this point.
One thing i will say...if you really felt you had the hedge to save$$ bet you HAD to go for it...i guess you can call that a bit of a lesson lol anyways again GL!

You are so clever..trolling..way to be cool and use the lingo. You obviously dont like to read more than a few sentences at a time; or you'd understand where my bills stand. Nor do you seem to have an understanding of what i am attempting. I get that you are probably one of the many people on here who state who you like and what picks you think will hit....yet never put any actual money on anything. Then brag when you're right, or say well if this or that would've happened, i wouldve won. You may be too afraid or feel inept to actually try to handicap to pay bills, but i am not. I have previously stated what as gotten me to this point. And the goals i have set. Before you hide behind your computer mocking people, learn to read everything. I get we've become a society of 140 characters or less, the cool people with the inside lingo & quick wit. But before you jab on someone whom you clearly know nothing about, look in the mirror..and ask yourself why your trying to shit on someone else's goals...maybe you have none? Respond if you must, i know you probably feel you need the last word. But unless its to actually discuss tips or strategy or something said in a constructive way, I wont reply to garbage again.

yea Azzu, i do hear you on 2 team thing. I do a lot of two team teasers..not so much parlays, but I initially built my bankroll up on the 2 team teasers..and i've had success throughout the year. I most certainly agree with you...i should've hedge that bet..they were already down by more than they needed to be at halftime, and i was in the perfect spot to recover 80% of that lose. I wont make that mistake again. I do agree with you there, lesson learned. Any other tips? Anyone dabbling in it that long has seen a lot im sure.

How does one gamble on sports for a living? Do you pay taxes on your winnings or just cross your fingers you don't get audited? I thought depositing large about of money in your back account with no real job would be a red flag? Is there some type of trick to this?

The red flags come if you are trying to hide it. I'm not sure on the appropriate tax rates you'd have to pay if you say, i made $75,000 from betting this year. If it comes to that point I'd definitely research and figure out the correct process. You read stories on people avoiding paying taxes on large sums and they pay the price for it in the end. If these challenge leads to me having to actually answer that question, I'll be happy.

Ok, thanks for info. I just know that banks are supposed to report anything over 10,000. Also, if they think your trying to divide your deposit, example - 2,000 on the 1st, 3,500 on the 6th, 1,400 on the 13th and so on...

Yea, i think hiding $70-80k a year is really easy to do, if you wanted to. I mean if you just use cash to pay for most things, a lot of it will be gone, never having to see a bank. I know a lot of people pay bills and stuff online now, making having money in the bank a necessity. However, there are still plenty of ways to pay using cash. Most utility..cell, cable, etc have kiosk so you can pay your bills with cash. There are places to get free certified money orders to pay bigger bills like rent, car, ins, etc. So paying strictly with cash, limiting your bank deposits to under $3000 at a time, with no obvious pattern, I'd say you could do it like that. But with me, I want to make it legit. If it comes to the point of having that sort of funds available via betting, I'd ask a tax guy or account what should i do next.

Agreed, pay taxes all the way. I'm more concerned with the fact that gambling is illegal in California. Not sure about the rules in Texas, or where ever you are.
You must have a local bookie, right? I only have online, where I can't get cash.

Hey Chemojewels,
Just read through the post, just wanted to ask you a question or two and make a comment. I skimmed through some of the long ones so I apologize beforehand if you've already answered a question.
1) This may sound like a silly question, but do you have a Job besides sportsbetting? I know you say that you're paying the bills with it, but you could ultimately pay your bills with the winnings and still have a job and stash that away. Sounds like you don't have a job, but I just wanted to check. I plan on possibly doing the same one day as well. I'm starting with superlow bets and I'm working, so if it ever got to the point where I would be able to leave my job and focus specifically on betting, I'd be a happy guy.
2) More of a comment for this one... I'm with one of the other followers who said that they wouldn't do 2-team parlays. While they do pay out big, I just feel like they're not worth the risk. Granted, I also know just betting straight up on games, I'm going to have to win a little more than 50% to break even. I was curious to see if you were considering changing your approach?
With such being said man, good luck on all of your bets, I'll be following you along your journey!!

I'm not paying my bills right this second with sports betting. I'm trying to make that transition. So I do have a regular job. I'll be paying my bills regardless if this woks out or not. The goal is to try to see if i force myself to try to pay my bills with it, can I. And then next month add more bills. I'm starting with the basic ones, then the idea is to incorporate more bills into the goal each month until my entire lifestyle is supported by betting. In the mean time, I will continue to work. I have my bankroll that has been saved up for this moment. So once its gone, i'm done trying to do this for a living. But until its all gone, i'm gonna try. I would never jump into this without a backup plan. And having a job that already pays the bills, having a bankroll that is not tied into your actual savings, or real life money are the things i felt necessary to give this a try. So thats how this is playing out.
And i do agree with the 2 team parlays..they are riskier. But if you look through the very small sample of bets i've posted, you see that i do everything..which i did state early in the posts. I dont..nor will i stick with one particular bet. I base the bets simply on what ive handicapped for the day. But you are right, it is best to shy away from 2 team parlays..everything needs to be in the arsenal though. And thats part of this process, to see what works, and what does not.

As far as i know, gambling outside of select states is illegal..online or in person. I do not wish to discuss any further how people bet, how to get money, etc. Discussing such topics is a big no no given the current state of gambling in general. Hopefully you find a reliable way to receive your winnings. My only advise there is to use this site and others to determine which sportsbook..online or local, that is most consistent and reliable.

Anyone ever have that team, or that weird thing that you just know you shouldnt bet on. Maybe i'm just a lil off, but sometimes it does feel like certain things you bet on or whatever it may be is jinxed. Like earlier in the year i'd bet on the NHL Sharks..a team that is pretty good. Theyd kick the shit out of a team one, two nights in a row, but then i'd bet on them..and they'd suck. It happened four times..four different times i'd bet on that damn team, and got my ass kicked. I know, i know...just the way it is. Just weird. Saturdays is another one for me. Anytime I bet on Saturdays i seem to eventually, by the time the day is over, have my ass handed to me. I may win a bet or two throughout the day, but in the end i'd be worse off than when i started the day. Saturdays this time of year are such a big day too..so many games to choose from. Well, i did make a bet. Took Memphis -2...its at 3.5, but I bought the 1.5. I placed $111.43 to win $79.59. Oh Saturday...here I come.

I am trying to stay on top of putting my bets up so i dont hear any talk about posting picks after the games have been played. I wont be home for the rest of the day though. I did try to do a mobile post the other day, it seemed to work, but when i got home on my computer, the post i placed using my phone was not there. I have another bet i just placed..2 team 5.5 pt teaser..Memphis -2, Pacers pk..$131.42 to win $109.52. Good luck to you all.
