Because Memphis and Portland (when they give a shit) have more length and have a better inside game than Denver does. They are also better rebounding teams than Denver. And it has been proven over time that the teams with better game down low win in the playoffs.

And as the slogan goes among NBA players: " Rebounding wins the rings"

The Nuggets lack those 2 crucial elements to go far in the playoffs. Plain and simple.

Let me also add a 3rd with,

lack of a good defense. They are a middling mediocre defense. Denver is ranked 26th in pts allowed and even when you factor in pace they're mediocre defensively at best.

Without a very good defense, without great rebounding, and without a very good and reliable game in the paint down low... those 3 crucial elements missing "combined".... the Nuggets are just a nice little novelty regular season team good for a few wins with their fast pace and style, but will never consistently win the all-crucial important games against said teams

Yes! And despite these obvious facts, a few Nugget fans start threads five games into the season proclaiming how good they are.

The Thunder played the Nuggets twice in the final week of the season last year. OKC won both games easily. Nugget fans still talked shit heading into the playoffs saying Denver didn't care about those games...OKC went on to beat Denver in 5 games.

So OKC went 7-1 against Denver the final two and a half weeks of the season and these people continue to think Denver is going to win a NBA title or something.

Denver has a nice team but I don't see them doing shit in the playoffs.
