Clips, along with Jazz, easily covers their 1st quarters. Both would have been by double-digits if not for that ridiculous long shot by the lakers at the buzzer to trim the Clips lead to 7 to end the Q.

These teams with 2 days rest playing b2b teams are GOLD. You could see, in both games, how the Clips and Jazz had a much higher sense of purpose in their play, much more energy, quicker to chase down loose balls, more spring in their step, they look far more determined, etc etc

just 3 games on the NBA schedule 4 Sunday. However Monday is going to be fun with a ton of afternoon games on the holiday (8 afternoon games coupled with 3 night games for the day)

I really like Denver tomorrow for the game as well. They should be able to cover a 10 point spread against a pretty weak Utah team who is coming off a game yesterday. Only thing I'm worried about is a bit of a letdown game for the Nuggets after that huge win at home against Miami.

Blazers are 1-4 SU on the road 1Q. They tend to start games slow and are primarily a 2nd half team. Their coach had to plead with his players to start fast against the Lakers and they did (however they were at home)

Hornets on the other hand are something like 11-1 for 1Q this season. Should be interesting.

I don't know why, but I kind of like NO to cover. I think there is a good chance Portland wins, but by a small margin. They aren't the same team w/o Camby. I know this sounds a bit corny, but MLK day may mean more in the city of New Orleans than any other NBA city. If anything Hornets 1H. Everytime I see the Hornets play, they play real well 1H, and then absolutely bomb it in the 2nd half. I think the absence of a steady scorer down the stretch is the reason why they struggle so much late in games. They really miss Eric Gordon late in games.
