PATS VS JETS
` GAME THREE OF THE SERIES SHOULD BE A CLASSIC. The hatred between these two
teams over the past couple of weeks has grown. I haven't seen these two teams this
amped since the days the Jets stole and employed the Pats offensive Cord.
Eric " Fredo" Mangini to be their head coach. The drama level got so out of hand
in the media, that the commissioner called both teams and insisted that it be
stopped!!!!
Pats offense vs. Jets defense.
Brady is having an NVP year with 3,900 yards, 36 TDS, 4 INTS and has not
thrown an interception in 355 consecutive passes, which is an NFL record.
The Pats offense is #1 the NFL in most every offensive catagory. Here is a
small taste of what they are #1 in: ~ overall offense, first half offense, second
half offense, shot gunset offense and last but not least, red zone offense.
Besides having the best QTR Back in the NFL, they have a Plethera of wide
receivers. Welker, Branch and Elderman and Tate are a force to be reckin with. The
Pats brought in rookie tight ends: A. Hernandez, R. Growkowski to stretch the
field. This gives the Pats offense room to throw underneath and over the middle.
The running game of the Pats is the second in offensive DVOA with Danny
"Boy" Woodhead and Jarvis Greene "The Law Firm". Greene has not fumbled this
season and Danny lost the ball once. The Pats should key their running game to the
left side of their line where they have an edge vs. the Jets D-Line. Running to
the left side should be a strength for the Pats all day.
In week 13, the Pats destroyed the Jets 45-3. In that game the Pats threw
20 of 48 passes from the shotgun set an average 10.5 yards per play. This is going
to be important today because if the Jets are 29th in the NFL giving up 6.5 yds in
the shotgun set, one of the worst in the NFL. On regular pass plays the Pats
average 6.7 yds on 19 non-shotgun plays! See the difference? It might be a long
day for the Jets if they don't go back to the defense they were the yr before.
One more glaring weakness to the Jets defense is stopping third down conversions.
The Pats are the best in the league at converting third downs. The Jets defense
went from first to worst in third down conversions.
Jets Offense vs. Pat's Defense
Jets run a simple offense for Mark "Dirty" Sanchez to take the pressure
off the kid. Sanchez is not a great cold weather QB being from CA. The key for the
Jets offense will be running the ball and keeping Brady off the field. The two
times this season have been beaten is by MINNY and Cleveland. Both teams control
the clock and ran the ball over 25 attempts for their game, ultimatly keeping
Brady off the field and winning the game.
The Jets offensive line has a huge advantage over the Pats D Line. The Jets are
ranked third in the NFL and have the Pats deffensive line is ranked 21st in the
NFL. In short yardage situations this year the Jets are second best in the NFL
converting 76% of the time and the Pats are 30th in the NFL with a 71% defensive
conversion rate. There are 2 big injuries per Jets offense today. Right tackle on
Damion Woody and Brad Smith. Missing Woody on the right side might bring down LT's
12.6 yd avg. against the Pats running to the right side. Brad Smith who runs the
wild cat offense AVG 7.5 yds is the best in the NFL. This will limit Sanchez's
options on offense.
The pats defense is one of the best in the nfl or so people think!They are a young
group how have been tested some what! If there was a weakness it would be there
pass defense.They got better vs the pass defending the other teams #1wr and #2wr
of a team but got worse in defending the #3wr, and rb pass out of the back field!
this might be a big weakness for the pats defense today with defending dump off's
to LT out of the backfield and passes to cotchery #3 wr for the jets and a pats
killer!The jets are without woody this will be big and if the don't have brad
smith on the pistol offense to keep the pats off balance it might be a long day
for the jets.
