I feel that the current line (-9) is taking into account the Magic team that's been playing this season. But with Nelson and Carter out, it's a bit of a different team then.

Guys remember, the Magic OWNS Atlanta but mainly that is do in large part because Vince Carter owns Atlanta. This is coming from a Hawks fan. If you take away Vince always lighting up against Atlanta, these two squads are much more evenly matched.

man im from atlanta and watch them a decent amount. but watch a lot of orlando games. and the magic kill us every time. we have no answer for Howard at all. the defense for both teams are great but orlando's is much better. we def do not have the bench that they have ( lets be honest there are only two benchs in basketball that can come out and shoot. Orlando and Lakers ) well both look at this game as a playoff game early in the season and remember back to the playoffs last year? i do, orlando made us look like a high school team in basically every game. im not sure if im betting this game yet ( 90% i will. ) but im def not going to take the hawks thats for sure. and the way Orlando shoots the ball a 9 point spread is nothing.

well 9 is alot but I have heard that there is a chance vince carter and nelson could be limited on playing time and the fact horford and smith can easily get dwight howard in foul trouble could make a big difference.. Im takeing atlanta

Alright I've been lurking here for a while but decided to make an account for this thread. I'm relatively new to betting but certainly not new to the nba, just wanted to run a few things by the guys who are so quick to take the Hawks +9

Yes, they're a 6-1 team but LOOK AT THE COMPETITION! They're beating absolutely scrubs. The teams they've beaten have a combined record of 12-27! Then the first halfway decent team they play (Phoenix), they lose to at home. Add in the fact that Orlando is playing lights out in their new arena (winning by average margin of 28+), and I wouldn't be surprised at all so see Orlando blow the doors off Atlanta from the tip, regardless of Jameer/VC not playing.
