Rockets defense is getting ripped up again after they gave up 112 last night and 61 in the 2nd half to the Lakers. Golden State isn't hitting a retarded gaudy percentage that would lead you to believe they will dramatically fall off. 50% is solid, but not like Houston's 57. Also not just hoisting threes. We shall see.

The Magic are shooting a ridiculous 67% from the field as Washington has no answers for the Magic in the paint. Even if the Wiz decide to cut the paint off in the second half, that will leave the perimeter open for Orlando's three point shooters. This figures to be garbage time deluxe toward the end of the 3rd quarter into the 4th ... still, Orlando's reserves are having equal success and should continue to produce with nothing on the line late.

10.28.10: SUNS TEAM TOTAL OVER 48 [-110]
Not sure if the books assume Phoenix will slow down because this is a blowout, but I'll take over this number. Suns not shooting an overly high percentage at 47% from the floor, but they have nailed 7 of 13 from downtown. This could be reminiscent of the Jazz' game with Denver last night. Nuggets had a huge 20 point lead at the half [60-40] and still rolled up another 40 points. Suns reserves have 24 of the 48 Suns' points right now, so I don't think they are going to slow down even if this turns into primo garbage time in the late going.

Clip Ship didn't shoot an overly gaudy percentage in the 1st half at 45%. Scored 54, about a point per possession. Warriors defense is shady at best, so the Clippers could be expected to equal their 1st half output in a close game.

Heat have been unstoppable, so they should put up more points for at least the 3rd quarter with the Big 3. Nets have hoisted a lot of shots, but are shooting a poor percentage. Still, their interior play and some of the athletic front court players like Williams & Favors have had success. Primo garbage time set up for the 4th quarter.

10.31.10: MAVERICKS OVER 48 [-110]
Mavs scored 49 and missed eight free throws. Dallas has had issues in the 4th quarter of games, falling off near the end. Up by just two, this is an opportunity for them to reverse that and finish strong. Dirk hasn't done diddly so far, I look for him to get the ball and a bevy of free throws in the 2nd half.

Oklahoma City has been scoring plenty thanks to free throws. Their FG percentage is under 40% through two games, but they have gotten to the line 91 times and are shooting over 80%. The Jazz may offer an elixir for the Thunder's poor shooting as Utah is allowing opponents to shoot 45% from the floor and 110 points. OKC hit this number or better in three of the four meetings last year.

One bad quarter screwed that. 99 points with a 17 point 2nd quarter ruining any shot even though they gave it a ride in the 2nd half. OKC still very poor shooting.

Always dangerous to go under with the Warriors and anything, but they look to be missing Steph Curry very much offensively as it's Monta Ellis with almost 50% of their 38 points against the Lakers. In a blowout situation, we'll see how it goes ... Lakers will need to keep their D up in the 3rd to help try and keep this down.

Mostly a hunch here. They are shooting an obnoxious percentage and can be expected to come back to earth a little, but Deng has done a lot of the damage. If Portland concentrates on Deng, could see solid scoring continue elsewhere.

Toronto has been a two man show in the 1st half with DeRozan and Bargnani putting up 32 of their 62 points. Dinos getting to the line at a solid rate, so they're not settling for jumpers while shooting 58%. 20 points from the bench means Toronto should potentially continue to score in the 2nd half. Will need a solid 3rd in case they get into full blowout mode, up 11 right now.

Well we got the 2nd one. ATL sucked balls in the 3rd quarter and didn't give that one a great chance, although they did finish with 41 points. 15 pt. quarter is gonna kill an over all the time, every time. Probably play Memphis-LA if any of the lines make sense.

Just like the Heat last night, I don't think Orlando stops scoring in a blowout against the T-Wovles. The bench has about half the points in the 1st half, so they should keep a good pace. 78 point first half for ORL and 54% isn't a totally gaudy percentage, so I think they can keep it going.
