Nets -1.5 (2x)
You have to give credit to the Nets so far. Coming off one of the worst seasons ever and they start off 2-0 before dropping one to the Heat Sunday. Honestly, I have watched all three games and the Nets are playing really well. Of course they don't match up with the Heat but they played very well against the Kings and Pistons. The thing that would concern me for Bobcats backers is the lack of an inside presence for Charlotte. They are trying to throw guys like Nazr Mohammed, Tyrus Thomas, and Boris Diaw at the big guys which is kind of like throwing shit at the wall and hoping something sticks. Well nothing has stuck thus far and it has shown. Brook Lopez is by far the best center they are going aganst and Lopez has dominated the season so far. He has had 29, 25, and 20 points in his three games to open the year and when you get the inside going everything else seems to open up. The Nets added guys like Outlaw, Morrow, and Farmar who can take advantage of open space on the permiter and actually knock down the open three pointers. Something that in past years guys like Hayes, Simmons, and Hassell weren't able to do. Remember the Nets beat the Bobcats twice last year in a year they only had twelve wins. We all know the Bobcats are a much more inconsistent team away from their home floor. I like this spot for the Nets. Harris is very capable of sticking with Augustine who is kind of the make or break guy for the Bobcats this year. If he doesn't perform well they are going to struggle mightily.
Boston -7.5 (2x)
The Bucks just look terrible so far this year. They can't seem to do anything right. They lost the defensive dominance they showed most of last year. They are allowing way too many easy buckets and just can't seem to put the ball in the net consistently. So what do you get when you put a team that can't score consistently against the Celtics? Probably a good amount of Celtics runs and stretches where the Bucks are searching for answers on the offensive side of things. Rondo has taken the step to the next level as a point guard and is really distributing the ball better then anyone in the league right now. The only thing that scares me is that right now without West, Perkins, and Shaq the Celtics really only go 8 deep. You don't want Von Wafer and Semih Erdin to be getting 10-15 minutes but that is what they are stuck with right now. However, I don't know how much of an issue that will be against Milwaukee. The Bucks really only have have five or six guys who would be in the rotation for the Celtics. I like Boston to walk out with an easy win behind the home crowd on ESPN.
Houston -4.5 (3x)
I love this game I really do. Rockets 0-3 against the 3-0 Hornets but we all know that these two teams are in the same range as far as quality of team goes. The Rockets match up extremley well with the Hornets. Aaron Brooks is going to make CP3 work all game and that should be a great matchup to watch but everywhere else Houston has a mismatch. They have no one to gaurd Kevin Martin who has been red hot so far this year. Battier can shut down Ariza and I still think he is one of the best defenders in the league. Scola matches up very well with David West and I think Scola could have a big game against West all night. Then you have Yao Ming at 7'6 and Emeka Okafor at a generous 6'10. Houston has the advantage coming off the bench. They actualyl have too many quality players to fit into the rotation. You have quality players like Jordan Hill and Jared Jeffries either getting the DNP or getting mop up minutes. This has been a home team dominated series and I think Houston should win this one by double digits.

Hey Bj. whats the reasoning behind the hornets +6.5 if you dont mind> Is it because of the point guard situation? CP3 throwing the ball all round the Miami D and David west in good sort of form? I just think if LBJ goes to CP then he might show some good D to stop the rot on the other hand Im thinking LBJ the new turnover king and CP3 the steal king running the court for easy buckets?? Just what I needed. A nice winning night after a real rough streak. Can't lie, I was thinking way too much about line movement/square percerption/and back to backs. Something I don't do in basketball. I just need to get back to playing my spot plays and playing on the numbers rather then who or what is moving them.Comment -
Saturday 11/6
Cavs/Wizars o192.5 (1x)
Neither team really plays defense. Both are giving up 100 points or scoring 100 almost every game. I like the way the Wizards look with Arenas back. With him back it gives them a nice looking team that can score the ball with him, Blatche, Thornton and Wall pushing the tempo. When Howard gets to 100% I will be playing this team a lot. I think they are getting a raw deal and don't think they are as bad as people want them to be. Cavs not much to rely on scoring wise but someone has to score. Hickson has really become a much better player from what I saw last year.
Bobcats +7.5 (1x)
Love backing the Cats at home getting points. This is a playoff team last year and early in the season they aren't getting much respect with these lines. The Magic aren't as good as we are led to believe. No one will guard Howard but they already proved they could find ways to play tight games even when Howard goes off. I like the rest of the match ups. Rashard Lewis isnt' a match up problem for Diaw like he is for most teams.

Time to buckle down and get out of this hole. Maybe I just suck at NBA this year. I don't know. I had a similar start in NFL an am now +units. Just need to focus, watch, learn, an maintain confidence.
