In recent history #1 overall picks haven't done much in their NBA debuts. Now you bring in John Wall who has as much talent as anyone. But, let's remember he is still extremely young. His body hasn't even truly developed yet. Plus he didn't even score that much in college. I don't expect much scoring tonight. Jameer is so much bigger then him that he can overpower him every possession. Just think their is good value here.

the only trouble I see is with Arenas+Howard out, where else is the scoring gonna come from? Blatche will get his, but the Magic have a lot more people who can share the scoring load

Hopefully profitable. Not expecting to hit an insanely high % just expecting to hit more of my big plays. Right now working 3-0 on plays over 1 unit. If I can win my big plays it will be a great year.

Really like this one. The Nets looked good the other night. They finally addressed one issue that has killed them for years. They can finally stretch the court with some three point shooters. Guys like Farmar, Outlaw, and Morrow will only make it easier for Brook Lopez to operate in the middle. The Kings are deeper then usual this year and I like some of the guys they are giving minutes too. I really think this game will be paid at a quick pace with the Kings pushing the action most of the game. The Nets won't slow down with Devin Harris and neither team is really great defensively. Think this won gets to 210 with time left.

I am going to feel dumb if this one loses. I said all year that this team would struggle against teams like the Magic with a big inside presence but I just think the environment is going to be insane for the Heat. Miami has been waiting for this game since LeBron announced. They got things together a little bit last game and I think they have a chance to blow the Magic out.

Monday 11/1

I know I have been fading the Blazers a lot but I promise you they aren't as great as their 3-0 record indicates. This is the 3rd game of their road trip after stops in LA against the Clips and in NY against the Knicks and both teams pretty much just threw that game away. Chicago is a very good team in my opinion and will only get that much better when Boozer comes back. They are very gritty and have guys who won't blow you away with ability but they fit well together. Chicago had the Thunder on the ropes and then had a great 4th quarter comeback to put the Pistons away. I think this line is too low for Portland on the road. Portland has thrived in years past off the home court advantage and played average ball on the road. Now they run into a good team on the road and I think they pick up their first loss of the year here.

Sacramento home opener after a joke of a road trip to start the year. @ Minnesota, @ Nets, and @ Cavs is really one of the easiest trips you will see all year. Now they come home and get maybe the worst team in the NBA. Sure the Raptors beat the Cavs but they seem like a terrible team who got caught up in the emotion of their first game without LeBron and beat a sleep-walking Celtic team to give them the smallest bit of hype. This has been a home team dominated series and I feel that the Kings should win this one, I like their team and think they will give lot's of teams trouble when they get them in Sacramento. The Raptors don't even look or feel like and NBA team at this point. Not sure the books or public has noticed yet.

Atlanta Hawks -3.5 (1x)
Square play here but I like the Hawks in this spot. Cleveland getting tons of credit with this line but I don't know why. I know they beat Boston but that game is already out of my memory. They caught Boston napping on a back to back and the Cavs really wanted that game to prove they could win without LeBron, the crowd was into it and the Cavs played their hearts out. But I think the Hawks have their number here. The Cavs just don't have anyone to match up with Joe Johnson anymore and I think he might be able to pick how many points he wants to score tonight. Jamison is questionable with a knee and if he doesn't play the Cavs get even less deep then they already are. I think this is a good spot to be a square.
