Back to this thread, hopefully briefly. On Kobe, who's "the rest of the NBA"? I hear some people say Kobe's better, others LeBron. That's mostly irrelevant because of more direct statistical comparisons between the two that I've already pointed out, however; stop playing lawyer and ignoring it.

On Pippen verses Malone and Stockton: first off, I looked up all their stats and found that, while it's harder to compare players that were predominantly in the same setting over a large period of their career, Malone and Stockton were probably appreciably better offensive players than Pippen. I've gathered that Pippen was a great defensive player, but much greater than the other two to the extent of making up for his offensive shortcomings?

I don't know what you're on about with game film of Kobe shooting late-game shots, but measuring offensive in basketball isn't usually that difficult, and the numbers say Kobe's a terrible last (or almost) possession player, including his passing: http://82games.com/gamewinningshots.htm

Your last paragraph is just subjective stuff that anyone could argue either way; i.e. it's a waste to discuss.

how many NBA players have said lebron is better? not stupid ESPN analysts which MOST of them didn't even play the game, do you think they know better than the players who actually play against them in a season

i thought you were saying that who got more recognition than the other despite winning less ring? ain't that already an example? pippen is a great defensive player but he his offense is on par with those 2

82games.com just showed those stats but did they point out which games? i would believe it if they can at least point out which games besides if you want to talk about his bad passing in the end of the game, can't you remember his teammates in 05-07 who can't catch a ball to save their lives?

                        I forgot two things:
                        (1) I'm not sure that Pippen's less recognized than Malone or Stockton, aside from who's actually better. I hear Pippen's name uttered more than the other two. If a random sample of Americans were asked if they knew either of the players and what they did, would Pippen come behind the other two? I'm not sure, as it's not my era, but it wouldn't surprise me if he didn't. Can you confidently say otherwise?
                        (2) On what are you basing the assertion that LBJ is lying about the time he reached his team-to-be decision?

I'll get to your most recent post later.

does defending the opposition in the final minute of the game ( making him take the last shot) show up in the stats sheet? does making a great pass for another teammate which throws a lob to a more open man show in the stats sheet as well? does the intangibles show up in the stats sheet?

AI was a pretty good player back in the day, but his future in the NBA is pretty much done. He may have some game left in him, but as a teammate and a player who can help develop the younger players...that is not AI. I don't think any team would sign him now...

I would be happy if AI actually somehow joined the heat. It would cause disaster to come much sooner than expected.
