NONE of these teams above were ONE SEEDS. NONE OF THEM

the bulls did it in at least 4 of their 6 title runs........the rockets did it in BOTH of their title runs of 94 and 95 (4 seed and 5 seed). why not the lakers? yes i hate them also but why not them? do you honestly think the western conf champion the last 2 seasons and defending world champ gives a flying fukk about the reg season right now?

unfortunately for laker fans they are not gonna make it far in the playoffs. they are not the team they used to be between their inability to stay healthy and kobe's age. most importantly they need to keep gasol and bynum happy because kobe wont be there too much longer and when he leaves its up to them if the 2 of them are still lakers, and if they are not then the lakers will need to begin the rebuilding process

i hope you're right 'cause i want the lakers to lose but kobe's only 31 and yea 13 yrs in the league but the dude takes great care of himself and gasol, odom in their primes and bynum coming back healthy is scary. nothing would make me happier than the lakers losing in the playoffs but i dont see the western conf having a chance except for ONE team (look in my thread about the lakers and i'll tell you) and only ONE team in the east has a chance but they need to get orlando out of their heads.

I know, I know, every Laker fan is going to come in here saying that the regular season doesn't matter and that they will turn it on in the playoffs. However, the Lakers haven't shown an ability to flip that switch this year. As I kept saying around the trade deadline, they screwed up majorly by not getting Hinrich when they could have. Now you have the most unproductive starter in the league (Fisher), a center who is injured worse than people thought, Gasol playing without much confidence, and tension building within the team. The Lakers have a tough next week or two, let's see if they can turn things around and go into the playoffs on a positive note.

Denver is way too undisciplined to beat LA in a 7 game series and Utah will never win a game in Los Angeles, Dallas has a good mix I'm a little concerned about them but hopefully the Lakers will get it together

Laker fans seem to think there is some magical switch that can be flipped. It's not like the Lakers decided to win last night but decided to lose 3 or the 4 before that. The effort was still there, just not the execution. Yes, they are good enough to beat anyone on any given night, but they haven't shown any ability to do so consistently lately.
