KG has and always will be my most hated player in the NBA. He was a cocksucker in high school and apparently has never changed. I live in Myrtle Beach, SC and we have what used to be one of the premier high school tournaments in the nation, the Beach Ball Classic. We used to get all of the studs - Jason Kidd, Baron Davis, Kobe, Vince Carter, Garnett, Jermaine Oneal, the list goes on and on. Anyway there was a dunk contest every year. The year Garnett was there he opted not to get in the contest, which of course his decision (I believe it was the year Felipe Lopez and Toby Bailey put on a show, but not sure on this). As he was standing watching the contest, me and all of my friends began to chant "Garnett, Garnett", Garnett" in order to urge him to get into the contest. Instead of smiling and declining, he turned around and flipped us the bird. **** that guy.

KG is one of a kind. there will never be another basketball player like him.

I don't care about his offcourt business, his attitude, anything. Celtics wouldn't have rings right now without Garnett, that's for damn sure.

KG is still an NBA quality player, unlike a few other studs past their primes.

Locking up aged stars so they look scary? They haven't locked up anyone other than KG when they did the sign and trade. Ray Allen is a FA at the end of the year. They brought this group together to win a title thinking they may have a 3 year window to do so. They won the first year they were assembled. I agree that KG doesn't have much left since the knee injury, and if you hate the Celtics that is fine. I just take issue when your criticism is founded on incorrect statements.

Michael Finley's prorated veteran minimum contract isn't too prohibitive. You can make an argument that Rasheed's contract was a poor signing but it is a 2 year deal at the MLE which for a team over the cap, isn't that big of an issue. If you want to base your argument around the fact that this team is too old then there is no argument. To say they did a poor job of assembling this group, then I would say that is incorrect as they won a championship.

they won a championship that year because of they went against a lakers team that isn't 100% healthy that time, they faced a depleted lakers team with no bynum and ariza, and pau gasol just got traded to the lakers by feb of that year so obviously no matter how good pau gasol is, he never had the time to be FULLY accustomed to the lakers that time,besides they threw a number of people at kobe that time and tried to lock him down, even using dirty tactics, search it on youtube, you can see the celts dirty zone defense

Kobe even said it himself that they wasn't physical enough.
If they were healthy enough to at least make it to the finals they were healthy enough to win the finals

no bynum and ariza not in 100% isn't that a depleted lineup? yeah they weren't physical that time, they have SPANISH MARSHMALLOW and ODUMB which were too soft back then as their C and PF, and have radmanovic who was a BIG liability in defense how can you expect kobe to carry them when he is clamped up by 2 or 3 person, and when he passed the ball the stupid front line would just chuck up shots

they cruised to the finals with relative ease, they swept denver in the 1st round which was a team in disarray with AI not meshing well with melo both scorers that need the ball to be effective. they faced utah which they really owned ever since in the 2nd round, and get to face the spurs which was injury riddled as well with manu ginobili not 100%, manu was still good back then
