I'm glad to see LB doing a moneyline thread. I love moneylines myself. They can be tricky tho, like Celtics losing at home to Nets.

For what it's worth, playing money-lines can very profitable as long as one pays a little attention to whats going on. It can build a bank-roll quickly or knock out a more than average -110 wager that spreads and totals generally carry. For what it's worth, I too have Boston tonight to win twenty units spread out over multiple accounts on the money-line. Good luck with this "experiment" and your regular NBA thread.

#39It can be profitable, being selective. I enjoy structuring a 2, sometimes 3, team ML parlay, which I do multiple times weekly. Putting that smaller amount down, and then enjoying the larger reward that comes in. GL.Comment -

#47Another reason why I need to change books. Bodog is pathetic. Ive been talking about dropping them for a couple months now and still haven't done it. They don't even offer ML for a lot of games. Or totals in most college games......Comment -

Other than that I know nothing about them. I don't bet online, so my opinion might not be worth much.Comment -

#51Hate playing moneylines in the NBA. I think next to teasers, ML is the quickest way to the poorhouse. Lot of people paid big cash on Kansas and Kentucky last Saturday. One day like that wipes out a 16 game winning streak.Comment -

#54Thanks man,
You have a great reputation that is the only reason I asked, so I thought it odd that you would lay so much juice.
I trust u are smart with your money and wish you the best of luck.
I'll probably steal some of your plays and go with ML parlays though.
Thanks for all your work on this forum

#58Betting the moneyline is great, IMO. My only suggestion is that you base your bet on risk, not automatically betting to win a unit. It makes for a slower growing bank roll when you win, but upsets don't crush you.Comment -

#59I like your idea of playing the money lines. I really would suggest doing ML parlays to increase the payout and also allow yourself to bet on bigger favorites to increase your win %. I've been doing really well using this strategy. For instance, last night I cashed on Thunder -650, Ohio St -700, and Lakers -800. Took only $200 to win a unit.
For tonight, I wonder why you are so confident in the Nuggets? Just because the Thunder are one of the hottest teams in the NBA (winners of 12 of 14).
In my opinion, you'd be safer doing a ML paraly- such as the Hawks, Cavs, and Blazers. That 3-teamer only requires you to lay 253 to win 200, instead of 650. And if you were feeling lucky, you could bet 650 for a tasty 512 payoutComment -

#60I don't get your point. Kanasas and Kentucky were road teams that were hardly favored on Saturday. It wasn't like they were -800 and people were laying 800 to win 100. I bet on Kentucky to cover the spread and that lost too. The ML bets weren't the only losers... People seem to forget, upsets can happen when betting on speads too!Comment -

#65Yeah it's tempting to throw in that extra one for the payout but it can easily come back to bite you. I like your parlay. To be honest, the only one I was hesitant about was the Nuggets ML...
Cavs are good.
Sixers are horrible and without Brand or Iverson their team relies on guys like Lou Williams, Jrue Holliday, and Dalembert. Jrue Holliday is not going to shoot 90% from 3-point land and score a career high like he did vs the Magic a couple days ago(Magic still demolished @ Sixers).
Pacers are on back to back road games and the Blazers are on a roll right now. With Roy back and getting better each day, the acquisition of Camby, and Batum suddenly producing great numbers, I don't see the Pacers having a great chance. Plus the West playoff seeding is so tight, the Blazers know they can't drop this one at home if they want to keep on pace.
As for the Nuggets, I was originally worried because of OKC's hot streak as of late (won 12 of 14). But this is a big home game for them coming off the loss- and the Nuggets always seem to play their best against the better teams. Crossing my fingers Durant isn't lights out. The more I think about it though, the more I like the experience of the Nuggets at home coming down the stretch.

#68dont see how big moneylines are profitable in the long-run, even when being selective
like tonight the mavs are -2700, dog is +1500. You can't say there's value, long-term, with that much inflation.
If you can find teams that are something like -200 and should be -400, for example, then i agree you can win.Comment -

#69That's a good question. Probably because Shaq is out and it's on the road. Nets have stayed within 10 points in all 3 previous matchups with the Cavs this season. That being said, 10.5 points on the road isn't exactly low...
