Thats okay at least you keep track. Thats what is most important. If you have a running thread you should be keeping track of that. If you have the time to keep track of your thread then you have time for the record and units.

I have a thread (Value Plays) that I have been keeping track of since January, I keep a running record and I don't understand why many people do not do this.

I'd say there's a max of about 20-30 NBA threads that are updated regularly with records, and at least ten times that many opinionated posters with no record of any kind.

Everybody has an opinion and voices it often with capital letters or bold lettering. Thats why I created my thread and people who voice their opinions should as well because otherwise nobody knows if you are full of shit or if what you say actually holds some weight.

It's hard for them to hide a 30% win rate in their own thread... Internet tough guys abound.

I keep track of my record and units in my thread though it is nothing great. I find the forums are easier to use than a spreadsheet for someone lazy like myself.

i dont update my record daily because i dont need or want the attention. im getting killed in the nba to the tune of about -50x......i never bs anyone and dont care what people in cyberspace think about me. when i was up 20x in college hoops (down about 10x now) - i didnt update my record daily and there were few hits to the thread. thats fine with me as i post to light a fire under myself and have game discussions on pro sports (which i mostly cap)
when i was up in the nfl i didnt update my record daily either. if im up in baseball you wont see a daily update - but all my plays can be easily tracked as i never edit a post.
whats your point with a thread like this?
why would i want the headaches that you deal with? your up $10K in the nba but still some people who happen to tail you on the wrong night will lash out.

This thread has nothing to do with you. I can cap games as good as anyone here. This isnt a bitchfest. Read what Suicidekings said. This thread is for those who have no balls to even keep a thread. I dont want anyone following me at all. If they lose following me then thats there problem. If someone came into your thread on a bad night and started talking shit i know you wouldnt be happy and ive seen you upset before about it.

im not saying it has to do with me - but i have to respond when you dont direct the thread at anyone in specific.
actually - i cant remember the last time someone has ripped me, and i have had plenty of bad nights......probably because i try and keep a low profile.
but yes, i would defend myself but not by making a general thread to the whole forum.

I keep a record but I'm not sitting next to a laptop all day and post from my phone for the most part. When I have more time I'll update it fully

I was down -30 units in NBA this season and -40 units in MLB and kept posting em without chasing and ended up on the plus side. Only other posters that I have seen post a negative is myself, ta, dex, and chute ......

Dexter you are the only one getting all defensive here. I made this thread for certain posters and you should know it had nothing to do with you but for some reason you are the only one that got worked up. Im not interested in making a huge argument in my thread. I havent even reported anyone cause your not supposed to go into subforum threads and start going off on people.

haha - worked up? i replied with my reasoning for not posting a daily record and simply asked you what your point was in making the thread.
you were the one being defensive making a thread like this in the first place.

I keep record. And post daily.
I really use the threads as a database. I used Word once upon a time.

I with Houlihans I have a thread and it's main purpose is to be used as a database I like it better than using excel or word. I have a crappy record but I'm relatively new at this so it's not like I expected to be 60-70% right off the bat. I'm not a big fan of people who go on other people's thread just to rip them when they lose like a bunch of gutless cowards. If you're gonna rip people when they lose at least have the fortitude to send them some props when they win.

I have a NBA Thread that I started on January 1st. The prior two weeks I had daily threads for my plays. I keep track of the units and break them down to sides and totals.

The thread had nothing to do with you but you took offense to it. There are so many guys here who post one or 2 picks and then leave or go into other folks threads and talk shit. You proved my point not about the thread but about getting all defensive. It seems to me that you came to the conclusion that the thread had you mentioned without name as one of the guys i was referring to. You have a thread and post picks and units and dont keep a record but if someone wanted to find out they could go thru it and tally up. Im just letting people know that if they want to talk shit in my thread maybe they should post there own thread and make picks. I also wanted the NBA guys here to mention who has threads. I noticed the guys who have threads dont behave like that. You overreacted for no reason.

You will search a lifetime and not hit those numbers. It is unattainable over large numbers. If you can hit 55% over the long haul and manage your money right than you are in the elit 6% of this business.. All is easier said than done.

Dont have a thread but I keep a excel spreadsheet of all my plays and how much I bet on each game.
