Yup- they took a risk taking him. Hind sights 20/20 though. His ceiling was probably Dikembe Mutombo as a defensive force but doesn't look promising now.

I think too many people got caught up with all the Big East talk last year. All you heard was how dominant the BE was and how all the players had NBA written all over them. I cooled over Thabeet when he got punked by Blair last year. Scouts are a joke. Too many times they get it wrong.

If you could have traded Monta straight up for him, it would have improved your team after assigning Thabeet to your own DLeague team. Mayo and Thabeet for Monta was a gift of epic proportions that the Warriors turned down.
