I can understand the argument when one of them is frustrating a weaker team, but when playing each other the effect cancels itself out more often than not. Both understand that stifling defense isn't going to cut it and one of them has to score, so the tempo plays faster than either of them typically would play.

I'm not saying Boston's not capable of getting shut down in a quarter as well, but the Heat are just as likely. So it's really not that substantial of an argument for this game. Either team could give the game away or seal the win on the strength of one quarter.

However, in the first two games, the Celts have gone on 18-0 and 21-0 runs against the Heat so far in the series...

that was smart, i usually like to play first quarters in situations like this in the playoffs but i didn't even think about it. shit. nice hit for you though.

i like playing first quarters when it looks right. sometimes you just know a team is gonna come out and blast another team, then after than it's anyone's guess. like you said, get it out of the way early.

i'm kinda leaning towards mavs +1 1st q in the next game, i don't think it will be any worse than a tie at the end of 1, but i'm not quite sure it's strong enough to actually play. mavs got punked last game, something will be different tonight.
