To be honest, this is a tough game for me to cap. If it weren't for last night, I'd pick Dallas immediately. However, the Clips don't match up well with Dallas, so I think that negates some of the affect of last night. The Clips normally get their advantage by having size at the guard positions and length inside, but Dallas has big wings as well and won't have any trouble with Baron Davis. I'm going to take Dallas in the first quarter and then reevaluate the game at half once I know which Dallas team came to play.Originally posted by cockblocker

I like the Lakers and Celtics picks but I would hesitate on Orlando. First of all, Carter may be sitting this one out after spraining his ankle on Friday. That leaves Orlando without both starting forwards. Also, have you ever been to a 1:00 game before? They are normally pathetic displays of basketball to say the least. Because of this, I tend to stay away from these games. Furthermore, I haven't figured out if Toronto is for real this year or not. I'm playing the Magic in the first quarter as they tend to come out hot. I'll reevaluate at halftime and go from there.Originally posted by Danskeren

I consider the 4th quarter to be evil. I've lost far more than I've gained once the game hits the 4th quarter as it is by far the most unpredictable. You never know how much the starters will be playing, when the fouling will occur, and whether or not the team leading will still push the tempo or try to run off 20 seconds each possession. 3rd quarter you should have a pretty good idea of what is to come. Let's meet back here at half and discuss.

Yeah I know, but the Thunder have played 2 below average teams. They haven't had to guard anyone like Roy yet and I'm not sure how well they will handle Portland's length. I still like the Thunder, I'm just going to be conservative here with my units as I took a hit with the Spurs loss by betting more units than I should have been. Day's results: 9-7 +5.1 units
I did very well with my second half and third quarter plays tonight. I think I will wait until halftime of certain games that I am unsure of, like tonight's Blazers/Thunder game. I picked poorly with the Thunder and the over for the full game, but was able to adjust at half and win back my losses. Next time I will simply wait until halftime if it's a game I will be watching.
