We took a step back today, but all things considered it could have been worse. Never thought the Cavs would come out so flat. The good news is I feel I got a real good gauge on a lot of teams tonight. I was able to watch at least a half of 10 of the 12 games. Only two games tomorrow but I feel pretty strong about both. I may post picks tonight since I think the lines will move.

Alright I've got two plays for tomorrow that I already booked. I'm buying San Antonio down to -2, but I think they cover -3.5 just fine. For anyone who watched the game you should have realized how strong SA looked tonight. Granted the Hornets aren't a good team, but the Spurs are very experienced and very deep. Even if Parker sits out a game I think the Spurs are a good pick here.

Also, Denver +7 against Portland, seriously? Denver will be playing the back end of a traveling back-to-back, but they have a toughness too them that should give the Blazers fits. Once the ML comes out I may put a unit on that as well. Just far too many points to be giving a good team like Denver here.

Alright, I've been begging everyone all day to give me a good reason why I shouldn't go large on the Spurs and no one has anything past "The Bulls are playing their first game at home." The Bulls lost their high scorer from last year (Ben Gordon) and the key to their offense (Derrick Rose) has a bad ankle. Who on the Bulls aside from Rose can create their own shot? Maybe Salmons, on a good day. Rose will not be 100% tonight and will probably get lower minutes than usual, especially with a game against the Celtics tomorrow night upcoming in which he will have to chase around Rondo after chasing Parker tonight. Say what you want about the Spurs history of poor back to backs, but I think this is a new era of the Spurs we are seeing. Parker and Manu being healthy plus the additions of Jefferson and Blair and the improvement of Hill make this a younger team than most people realize.

With that said, I am adding 1 more unit to the Spurs pick (now we have two 5 unit games tonight!) and I'm adding the following picks:

Hey Williams...just curious as to why you play so many games?

A few reasons...First, I'll admit it, I love action. Second, and more influential, is that early on in the season I rather play more games for lower units than fewer games for higher units. The reason is that there are too many surprises early on and trust my ability to make a higher percentage of correct picks more than I trust my ability to properly allocate my units to my picks. I know most guys like to go with fewer picks, but to each his own. I get more enjoyment, and hopefully more profit, this way.
