can someone explain why/how the books had WAS favored last night over the Blazers at home...that team is absolutely possessed at home, especially in the 4th Q

i know all you sharp cats think they're lucky and they can't continue...but that 4Q@home horseshoe has stayed firmly up their ass for a long time...eventually it becomes part of their character...

a lot like OAK and BAL in mlb the last few seasons...continually outplay their "on paper" potential...until it ain't potential anymore...it's team character...

i absolutely hate betting against POR at home, no matter the situation...just because they're POR at home...(same in mlb, just as TOR and WAS seems to under-play their potential year in year out, OAK and BAL will over-play it)...intangible chemistry can trump superior talent without that chemistry...

bickering prima-donnas can "turn it on and off"...hungry scrubs on a mission got that "energizer bunny" never say die spirtit that keeps them in games, and even winning games they really "shouldn't"...until the band of scrubs finally get recognized as being for real...as OAK did last year in mlb, and POR is this year in NBA...

when advanced stats indicate "luck"...but it continues and continues, maddening all the sharps fading them thinking a regression in the luck department is due...then it ain't statistical randomized luck anymore, but "manufactured luck" created by playing (and managing) to win, until the game's bitter end...which is character (that most professional athelete's/teams simply do not cultivate in today's day and age)...

last night, WAS going into the 4th with just a 2point lead against POR at home...you just knew the POR being POR (aka. the intangible "we always win games like this") thing was gonna kick in...and when it doesn't, like against the clips a few days ago...it's the exception, rather than the rule...

as much as you sharp guys hate POR and are always waiting for them to regress to what the numbers tell you is their "true" form...i think they can go very deep into the playoffs this year with their chemistry helping them thru tight spots...cuz they've actively cultivated this intensity all season, and aren't just strategically amping up the effort to match the circumstance

in the East we have an amazing "WAY over their heads for WAY too long" story brewing in the hawks...chemistry kicking in big time...i expect them to go perhaps one more series than they're "supposed to" this year...strengthening the chemistry for perhaps a more serious run at things next year...

This one's a fukking gem - the Wizards are up 5 with 4 seconds to go, the other guy makes a 3 then they throw it away on the inbounds so no intentional foul, Denver miss and they win by 2.

I had -3 pregame and -2.5 and ml live. I made 100 bucks on this game woulda made 1100 and erased most of today's losses with a win by 4+.

Wanna fukking kill someone. That's a £2500 swing if the Mavs win SU and the Wizards win by 5. -1600 to +900 on the day.

Just a weekend from hell. Often like this with me, when I go on a losing run it lasts like 3-4 days and it's just like every fukking thing in the world goes wrong during that stretch. It's a shame cause I like a couple games a lot on Tuesday.

That was brutal. Just laughable basketball. Hey at least you hit the ml, Faried bricked two FTs at the end of regulation. Either way though, Wiz should have covered that line. Even that loose ball foul on the rebound with 7 seconds to go in OT was pretty questionable imo.

fitguy I don't really hate Portland. I've actually come a long way as far as thinking they're a legit force this year. Don't think I've faded them much this year at all tbh. I just thought the Wizards were gonna have a good trip and Portland was reeling a bit and it felt like a game where Washington could go in and show what they're made of. Also when I made the bet I thought Aldridge was sitting out. It admittedly didn't bother me that much when I knew he was gonna play but he made a difference out there.

When Faried bricked those 2 I thought hey maybe it's turning around and then I just get another really rough one go against me. You do make a good point though. I could've dropped about 1500 more. There is also quite a difference between -1600 and -3100 lol.

I wish you hadn't said that ...Murphy's Law reigns supreme once again...we get OT to save us from a non-covering victory...so they quickly go up 6...teasing us into thinking that the -10.5 might even hit and make it a nice payday...then all the usual end of game amazing shit...as if god himself knows your bet and conspires to break your heart...of course in the dying seconds the nugs hit the 3 to blow the cover, then miss a game-ending 2 a moment later that woulda' kept our bets alive...

They really have to look into allowing the Pelicans to play the playoffs in the East. With Walker and Jennings going down and the Nets being the Nets, we're gonna have an even worse record for the 8th seed than last year. What a fukking joke.

NBA may need to look into this. I think it was Cuban who suggested a conference re-allignment. The east is just so pathetic. And i agree, last time I checked, New Orleans is closer to the east coast than the west coast. Geographically, you can make a case for SA, Houston, Dallas, Memphis, OKC and New Orleans to be in the east.
