i think phoe +7 is to high, for a team on their last breathe.

wrong team is favored here.....I listened to Jay Wright last night on the radio, and I've never heard him more confident before a big game...I was on American againt them laying the wood. Nova's gonna spread them out, too many match-up problems for Duke and I think the ACC has been a little exposed ie Maryland,Clemson,FSU...

I'll be on my way to the Garden for tonights East NCAA action - but not before punching a small ticket on Nova +2.5. The other East matchup (Pitt/Xavier) will be fun to watch - no bet for me.

The funny thing is I'm as excited as a little kid to go to the games tonight while 80% of the people in Boston don't even realize that the tourney is here.

i agree entirely. The line actually moved up a bit despite overwhelming public loving nova and we all know the best time to fade a team is when their stock is too high. I honestly believe that if this was to be nova's game the line would have opened up at duke -1.5 to encourage more duke money, especially since +1.5 is the magic number in college ball (noticed a trend over last couple years that majority of teams given a +1.5 cover and or win SU). This is why i think kansas beats MICH ST. su (that and my bracket indicates it too). But not soo here. Nova destroyed UCLA who is vastly worse than in years past so that doesn't really mean much except that nova is primed for a let down against a team that really is in many ways a clone. Both teams play off the dribble drive and jump shot, but duke went home early last year and i just don't see that happening again.

To the person who talked about the ACC being overrated, maryland and BC are one man shows and they both lost to much more complete teams, they were in the middle of the ACC both having losing conference records. FSU only excels against very good teams, but sags against mediocre teams ala wisky. Clemson had one of the worst perimeter defenses in the conference which played perfectly into michigans strenght, and STILL only lost because they played absolutely terribly. Wake forest was just a young club that lost it down the stretch and carried negative momentum into the tourney. Duke and NC however had quality clubs that did their thing and are rightfully the top two in the conference, while nova really was the 4th or 5th team in their conference. Anyways... all i'm saying is...

DUKE -1.5 (got it at 2 at my book and bought the hook off)

also rolling with purdue for the same reasons CK has posted. I'd add to it, but he was too thorough for me to have anything else

PURDUE + 8 (got it at 7.5 and bought the hook)

also liking the lake show to blowout the hobbled pistons and win there for the first time in god only knows how long.

and given the way thta miami has owned chicago all year, 6 points seems like too many and has obviously caught the public eye inciting a massive public pounding of the heat. BUT when you think about the fact that the heat won SU last time they visited and the line went UP even though for all intensive purposes it should have dropped with the heat's ownage, it went up. I smell a double digit win for the bulls, especially with the wade's off a back to back.

Lakers 1Q - One of the strongest 1Q NBA teams Lakers playing a mid-table 1Q NBA team, there is not a clear edge in the stats however, lately Lakers have been hammering teams early then resting the key players on the bench later on. I expect this to continue against the injury striken Pistons.

I can't make any long-ass writeups because I'm a few minutes away from taking Law Examinations. I might have bet on the lakers but even though history tends to change, the system most likely won't. Even with reduced numbers and players, I don't think The Palace and its Royal Guards will allow the evil dragon Kobe and dragon look-alike Odom to just play with them at their home turf. I expect a Laker win but it probably won't cover the spread. No play for me.

Phoenix knows Portland's number like I know Al Sharpton's number on speed dial. The last 11 meetings have been all run and gun. The only time Portland won in the last 12 meetings was when Brandon Roy decided to play at 200% capacity and score 50+ points. Portland may win this game but I'm putting my money on a team that is fighting for dear life in the playoff contention. The only way Phoenix loses is when they are still tired(b2b) and played recklessly.

At this point, if Phoenix loses to Portland and they still enter the playoffs, I'll bet for Phoenix to win the Western Conference.
