Okay fellers, schaapattack is busy burning the midnight oil again as usual, and while he is doing that i will be making my selection for the NBA tomorrow. He tookme through the wringer asI played a mind bogglingamount of games yesterday. Almost three times as many as I normally play. But that's what this experience is all about with the tailing. Everyone has their own method to their madness! i just can't wait for next week when Smacky gets his turn. That ought to be pretty entertaining. The week after that, I am thinking of seeking out Dexter or non!
Denver is coming home after a long 8 game East Coast road trip and this is their first home game. Too bad it comes on the heels of a back end situation playing against Boston, a team that they have covered against on the last two occasions that they have hooked horns. This time they won't be so lucky. I like my chances taking Boston to get the job done in this one and get the win outright, and once again I am taking the Gang Green moneyline on this one and getting rid of the points altogether. After all, any points given to the Celtics today is too many. For those interested in taking the Celtics, I suggest you get it early as apparently they will be favored in this game and rightly so. The Nuggets are just out of gas andBoston is eager to show that they can come together as a unit and overcome the loss of KG while on this west coast trip. With a defensive advantage of only giving up 92 points per game compared to the Nuggets 100, the Celtics may even turn this one into a rout. I look for them to jump out and get a lead on the Nuggets in this game as the carry-over effect will be working in their favor. So of course that means that i will be pressing the 1st quarter button on the Gang Green again as usual until the wheels fall off.
Likewise any points given to Atlanta are too many on Monday evening. Utah Jazz have only won 5 games in a row this year one time. With wins against the tired Lakers squad, and Boston and New Orleans on this home trip, this game is the perfect set up for a moneyline shot. The Hawks for their part are a sterling 6-1 ats as a road dog of 6.5 or more and also are 4-1 straight up against Northwest Division opponents. Utah is the polar opposite with a horrid 1-4 straight up and ats record against Southeast Division opponents and only 6-5 ats in home games where they are a favorite of 6.5 or more points and 1-3 ats after playing 3 or more consecutive home games, 2-5 after 3 or more consecutive wins.
It doesn't hurt that the Hawks have had the Jazz number the last two times that these two teams have played going 2-0 ats to break the hex that Utah has had over them. What stood out to the PC's more than anything is that this is the lowest line or a game between these two eams since prior to 2004. In the last 5 games at Utah, the Jazz were favored by an average line of 10 points, with a low of 8.
Carlos Boozer will be coming back into the fold and while it will make the jazz a much more formidable foe in the playoffs, it will only be a minute mixing experiment for now, and thus interrupt the continuity that the team hs acheived in their brief period of good play. No way will a rusty Boozer be able to keep up with a healthy Al Horford in this game. Bibby and Johnson are more than capable of matching any production that the Utah guards can come up with. The problem of course will be who will guard the high flying Josh Smith. The Hawks are a playoff caliber team with playoff tested veterans on their squad. I think that they can hold their own against the Jazz in this contest with ease.
With only 26% of bettors placing their money on the Hawks I like my chances being the minority on this wager and fading the public. I suggest that we wait until around noon and then make the wager to allow time for the public to give us a half point and then take the game at Atlanta+8.5 by buying a point. I also recommend a play on the moneyline for Atlanta as they have an excellent shot at winning the game outright. I do not suggest playing them for the 1st half as Utah is lights out at home in 1st halves.
Thanks hockeytown for the picks yesterday. Keep 'em coming!
