MAZ NBA Halftime Picks -

A friend and I have observed certain patterns and trends in professional (and college) sports that seem to repeat. We have recently pooled our efforts in formulating these ideas into mathematical betting systems and are pretty excited about the results.


For the rest of this season, we will be posting our computer selections in this forum so as to get a public track record. For now this will only involve NBA halftime plays. Historically these have won at a rate of 55% on small plays, 57% on medium plays and 60% on large plays. Small plays should be around 1 in 3 NBA games, medium around 1 in 5 NBA games and large plays around 1 in 12 NBA games.. If you do the math, this is.....attractive. We will post in this thread, a few minutes after halftime, our NBA plays which we are playing ourselves for 1/3 unit, 1 unit and 2 units respectively.

Will post in this thread a few minutes after games go halftime and the computer spits out its prediction. Each day I will post the day before and YTD record.

(Note: I know the 1/3 unit complicates the math, but we expect to have alot of plays of that caliber and they are definitely worth playing but will not approach the win rate of the strongest plays. Ergo the 1/3, 1, 2, ratio on plays makes the most sense for this forum, though I am playing the games myself for 1%, 3% and 6% of my bankroll)

Natelli1, about 1 in 3 games have small play, 1 in 5 games have medium play and 1 in 12 games have large play, so about 40% of games or so will have some play. Thats alot of games. I dont think i will have time to post the 'no plays', so if there is nothing posted after 5-6 minutes after game gets halftime it is likely a no play. (but Ill try to post 'no play' if that is the case)

pulledclear, ya I hear you, but we are not that. Just 2 guys with phds (one in computer science/math) who have created an algorithm we think works. For obvious reasons I don't intend to expand on how/why it works.

We're not going to do alot of chatter here, its just a repository for the track record. You can follow/believe if you wish, and even be skeptical. We're pretty confident in the system hitting 57%+ on several hundred games per year (which if you bet you know is a big deal), but a) this is our first season implementing it and b) NBA halftimes have low max bets, so having others play it might eventually make sense. Check back here in a month.
