Nice thread, thanks for all the writeups. Don't know too much about either teams but 82games says Bobcats shot selection is close range 31% at eFG% of .529, among the higher %s in the NBA. Portland's opponents shot selection is 30% close range at eFG% of .578. If Portland is so much bigger why do they get beat up in the paint and take tons of jumpers?

edit: also if their D is so solid, why do they have the 2nd worst opp fg% at .483?

Hey GM, with you on the Blazers game but I can't select Blazers -6 at pinnacle, the dropdown menu shows a range from +2 to -1 which
brings me to the question - What site(s) are you betting on?
Would like to split my BR after a few wins to register on several sites (been betting on betfair when the season began but they closed bets
to germans a few weeks ago) to get all those bets pinnacle doesn't offer.
What would you suggest? (since you are able to bet on spreads to as far as 6 in that game and Team Totals, etc)

There always local lines unless I post otherwise. Both Port +1.5 and the -6 were bet at Heritage. I posted it.

That's over a small sample size. Portland D is solid on the perimeter. Portland isn't so much bigger as I mentioned they are not big they are long. The difference is their guys have relatively quick strong hands that can disrupt ball movement and the rhythm of perimeter shooters. They don't have a true C and they can definitely get beat up in the paint by a team with some good bigs--which is not Charlotte.

Personally love the Portland play. Feels like a gift. As usual, anything is possible in early season NBA play but there is absolutely no reason, on paper, Charlotte should beat this team.

Blazers coming off a game where they had 3 separate chances to win at the buzzer and finally hit an unreal shot by Batum to win the game. I think Aldridge was thinking about leaving but if they reel off some wins Blazers could be solid not great.

The Bobcats are simply outmatched here at nearly every position. Kemba may be able to keep up with LIllard on both ends, but Aldridge should have his way with Mullans, Haywood, or that one other guy whos name I can't pronounce on him. He will want to show up some scrubs. Gilchrest is going to see a lot of time from Batum who is an excellent all around defender unless you know how to post up which Gilchrest does not really. Mathews also should show Taylor the rookie a thing or two. Ben Gordan and Sessions are nice sparks off the bench. If you have a bench you can win road games always. Portland doesn't have a good bench but their guys are long athletic players that should make things tough for the bobcats smaller guards.

This is a starters game for Portland I think they will want to end this road trip on a good note. Port D is solid but you can beat them up inside the paint. Bobcats don't have a big team that does that. Without 20 from Mullans this team doesn't win. Gilchrest needs to score 15ish. Walker should play decent bt I don't think the other guys will be able to do much. Mathews and Battum are the keys to this game to shutting down the shooters Gilchrest, Taylor.

I don't see how you can leave Mullans in for long. Unless Aldridge just has an off night he should abuse him.
