Alright fellas we are off the ATLANTA this weekend for the once a year race on Labor Day weekend....this is the only SUNDAY NIGHT race of the entire season...we will also have the Nationwide series racing on Saturday night also from Atlanta motorspeedway...The Truck series will also be racing on SUNDAY afternoon from the Canadian road course as a warm-up to the big CUP event...Hopefully- +we can keep the great momentum up and cash in Again this weekend!

ATLANTA is a 1.54 mile quad-shaped oval track unique compared to all other racetracks..it has 24 degrees of banking in ALL turns and 5 degreees on the straighs..the frontstretch is 2,332 feet and the back measures out at 1,800 feet long....its old and worn out and usually makes for a great race...there have been 7 different winners in the last 9 races from here so nobody dominates this racetrack which makes for a wide open field this week....we hit Hamlin last season here, not sure thats gonna be the same result this year...lets just hope we keep the Cup momentum going!

Nationwide: SATURDAY NIGHT @ 8pm airing on ESPN2

Trucks: SUNDAY @ 3pm on FS1 (Canadian road course)

CUP race: SUNDAY NIGHT @ 8pm airing on ESPN

Trucks should be fun to watch. I bet hardly any of those boys have turned right in anger before!

A bit of research on if any them have road course experience might pay dividends.

No its called Canadian Motorsports park since Ron Fellows bought it last year.

It's a historically significant track for Nth America known world wide by the name Mosport. Feels so wrong they changed it to that generic moniker.

Oh I don't know it was steeped in history.

And we know for sure there won't be any ringers I would think cause its on the same day as the cup is. And I can't think of any nationwide regulars that would so it. I'd be interested to actually see some practice

1 time a year races are so much tougher to prepare for. Watched last 4 years of Atlanta racesand its gonna be a tough week. My head hurts. Had to retake notes from last years cause I was out of town that week, so thats just more work for me. I won't be done tomorrow afternoon probably.

Greek wont have odds til tomorrow as usual, so dimes should be posted in the afternoon or evening

Have to say this might be the the worst opening odds I've seen all year looking at the Greek. 7 drivers at 10-1 or lower. Yuck. I know its wise open at this track every single year but come on that should make it better odds.

Of course dimes will be better, but probably not enough to make me think there's much value out there early.

Something else that's another added variable with just 2 races ril the chase cutoff, is what are the teams just inside and outside the chase bubble plan on doing? Try and get good finished or go for the wins? My guess is solid finishes

thats exactly why kahne didn't press the issue, a 2nd place finish got him inside top 10 to be able to use bonus PTS when chase starts Instead if risk wrecking and starting as a wild card and no bonus PTS for wins

Truex, Jr. has broken wrist; will drive at Atlanta: An MRI on Monday confirmed a scaphoid fracture and sprain of #56-Martin Truex Jr.s right wrist suffered in Saturday nights accident at Bristol Motor Speedway. Doctors fitted Truex with a special cast Tuesday hell wear indefinitely. The cast enables him to better grip the steering wheel and compete in Sundays NASCAR Sprint Cup race at Atlanta Motor Speedway as well as the 11 remaining races. Truex worked closely with NASCAR this week and has been cleared to race. A multi-car crash collected Truex on lap 448 Saturday sending the NAPA AUTO PARTS Toyota into the outside wall. Truex was treated in the medical center Saturday. MWR has yet to determine if a stand-by driver is needed for this weekend. Truex is 14th in the points and holds the first of two wildcard entries as he seeks his second consecutive berth in NASCARs Chase the for Sprint Cup.(MWR)(8-27-2013)
