I'm not surprised at all. No good history here and nothing special in practice.. If it was some1 else it would have been alot worse but not Newman at this track.

I decided to play Newman and it had very little to do with the pole..I believe that in pro sports heart and mental focus play an important role..with Newman basically auditioning for a ride next year, my exact quote was "I think Newman will be checkers or wreckers today."..now granted it was very fortunate for him that the 48 had a mishap in the pits..but he was stout all day and put himself in a position to take advantage of an opportunity.

I mainly had longshots because I figured everyone knew that they couldn't beat the 48 lap for lap and they'd need something extra.
