pretty tempted by gws +99.5 but it's hard to judge, I've been thinking for a week about which way I'd go with it.

Damn I swore I was gonna take Sydney even if they were -100! That was before the nab cup though...now I'm not too sure. Might leave that one out, I think the line is right and is set to suck punters in.

The GC/Cats NAB Cup game has a line of just 21.5, not sure if GC can get that close over 4 quarters. Might have a think about it over the next few hours if I can pick up some money to play with from the punt today!

This -20.5 looks like a trap. Geelong will have no motivation for this and Suns want a big showing against the premiers...

That being said... what do I know about NAB cup - nothing.

As in actual surprises in terms of form (and an indicator for the season?) or lack of giving a sh!t from Carlton, Pies and Hawks?

Can you actually read anything into this? I think you can to some extent about the teams that play well... not so much about the 'good' teams that play badly.

Hey guys I was just looking at the opening lines and one in particular jumped out at me, Eagles -5.5 vs Dogs. I think dogs are on the way down, no forward structure and only a couple of standout players. Eagles on the other hand are on the way up, pretty solid all over the ground, particularly up forward, and I just cant see dogs getting within 20 points of the Eagles. What does everyone else think about that and the other opening lines?

GEE, Tigers showed good signs, even if its just NAB cup, wouldn't read too much into GWS or Port Adelaide though. Saints also looked like a more confident team now they have gotten rid of last years media depression(or so it seems).

Yeah really dont know about the saints this year, we played ordinary against the swans with a strong list and played well with a young list against a young geelong team. Bit hard to know so early, new coach, new structures, it will take time to adjust I think. FYI saints always struggle against Essendon, I'd be hesitant to bet on them this Sat night

Yeah, Tiger's showed some life last year. I think they are a decent up and coming team.

Saints, yup. Too much drama last season. Should be better again...

Why? Well it is not more or less difficult than the actual home and away season IMO. You just got to pick your spots as always and factor in as much info as possible. No different to any other game. I have done pretty well on NAB Cup so far this year, but only playing small and selectively. Silly to bet big early in the season full stop, but I certainly don't think it should be a blanket rule stay away rule on this. Nothing is ever guaranteed, pre-season or not.

You always see silly results in pre season games that you don't see as often in the regular season. The trial games in any sport mean next to nothing in terms of how the season will pan out.

it doesn't matter what they 'mean', they can still be profitable, in some sports pre-season games are easier to beat than the regular season.
