    Selection No24:

    £50:
Castleford Tigers +14 (To Beat) St Helens @ 1.91 (BetFred)
St Helens vs Castleford Tigers (25 Apr 2011 15:00 - GMT)

    Good Luck

Both teams are coming into the game on the back of derby defeats to local rivals (Castleford Tigers 24-28 Wakefield Wildcats & Wigan Warriors 28-24 St Helens), The reason behind my Castleford Tigers selection is that i think the +14 is just too generous considering so far this season they are a team whos form has been consist all the way through (7-1-2 with the 2 Losing games by the same margin of 4 points) averaging only 19.6 PPG against them in Defence which is only 5/6 points from the Handicap without scoring themselves but they are also averaging 31.1 PPG in Attack, St Helens compare quite similar with 18.72 PPG in Defence & 30 PPG in Attack. Prior to the game against Wigan Warriors there were rumours that a number of Saints players were playing through the game with injuries which in a game with such fierce rivalry adrenaline could quite possibly help carry you through but they have since lost Centre Gary Wheeler & possibly Star Full-Back Paul Wellens to injury, Castleford Tigers on the otherhand have no new injury problems to deal with.

              Good Luck

Castleford Tigers (7-1-3) come up against the inconsistent Leeds Rhinos (6-1-5) who are now almost back to full stength with the return of Danny McGuire last week and England Captain Jamie Peacock for todays game but the bet i'm going for is Castleford Tigers to score Over 22.5 points a feat that theye have achieved in 5/6 of their Home Games this season (Averaging 35.1 Points For) and in 7/11 games oveall, Leeds Rhinos average 25.5 Points Against overall, It's a big game in the eyes of Castleford fans and along with Wakefield Wildcats this is the fixture that stands out to them every season and the one game they love to win.

Well this one was a poor selection that looked great on paper, Castleford Tigers had two tries ruled out in the 1st Half for forward passes that in my eyes and in the view of the commentators were the wrong decisions but Leeds Rhinos were fantastic in every department today.

Top of the league Huddersfield Giants (9-0-3) travel to the south of France to come up against 7th places Catalan Dragons (6-1-5), Huddersfield Giants come into this game on the back of a 52-22 crushing win against Salford City Reds whereas Catalan Dragons had a demanding energy sapping 8-8 Draw with Bradford Bulls in terrible raining conditions, Catalan Dragons don't have the greatest Home record this season (1-1-3) with Huddersfield Giants a modest (3-0-2) and unbeaten in their last three visits to Catalan, Both teams welcome players back for this game but i believe Huddersfield Giants have the far better squad and the conditions of last weeks game may just take it's toll on Catalan Dragons towards the end of the game with Huddersfield running out 8+ winners.

Warrington Wolves come into this game on the back on a shock 10-24 Home loss to the improving Hull FC and Bradford Bulls had a tiring 8-8 battle with Catalan Dragons in terrible conditions in the south of france and flew back to England on Tuesday, An intersting point to look at is that prior to the Hull FC game Warrington Wolves played away to Salford City Reds and run out huge 0-60 winners only a week after Salford City Reds had beaten Bradford Bulls 56-16 at the same venue, Bradford Bulls (4-1-7) just aren't in the same class as Warrington Wolves (8-0-4) and Tony Smith will have his bigger, stronger, faster and more skilful team firing in perfect Rugby playing conditions in Yorkshire today as the best Attack in the league (33.25 - Average) come up against the 4th worst defence (30.16 - Average). Warrington Wolves by 20+ IMO.

So close but the Wigan Warriors game finished in a Handicap tie, That's a few times no that the tie has cost me in games.

I like Huddersfield Giants (9-0-4) to beat St Helens (8-2-3) tonight at Home, One obvious reason is the crippling injury list that St Helens have at this moment in time with 10 players ruled out through injury and not a single Half-Back fit and available to play, Whereas Huddersfield are able to recall David Faiumu, Luke Robinson, Jermaine McGillvary, Dale Ferguson and Scott Grix who were all rested in last weeks Challenge Cup victory. Huddersfield Giants are very strong at home this season (5-0-1) beating league leaders Warrington Wolves in the process and the sole defeat coming against engage Super League champions Wigan Warriors, You can never count out St Helens but i believe tonight Huddersfield Giants will want to put on a big performance infront of the SKY Cameras and show they are a team who can be in the running for Grand Final glory come the end of the season.

The result was never in doubt as Huddersfield Giants put in a commanding performance leading from start to finish going in 12-0 ahead at Half-Time and running in 5 Second Half Tries to ease to a 40-18 victory.

Two form teams clash as 5th place Leeds Rhinos (8-1-5) take on joint league leaders Warrington Wolves (10-0-4) at Headingley Carnegie Staduim Tonight, Leeds Rhinos go into the game on the back of an impressive 6 game unbeaten run scoring an average 35 PPG in Attack and 15 PPG in Defence (although of the victories only Catalan Dragons are worthy of a mention when it comes to teams challenging at the top come the end of the season), Warrington Wolves come into the game with a 4 match unbeaten run averaging an astonishing 78 PPG in Attack and 3.5 in Defence (Again against very weak opposition both in the engage Super League and Challenge Cup), Leeds were hit with a blow of Centre Keith Senior being ruled out for this season after being injured during last weeks game but Danny McGuire & Brent Webb could return with both being given late fitness tests and Richie Myler & Brett Hodgson both return for Warrington. I personally feel Warrington Wolves are the strongest team in the competition this season and although Leeds Rhinos are improving i don't think they are quite at Warringtons consistant level at this moment in time.
