Warrington underlined their credentials as Super League contenders with a high-scoring victory over Leeds.

Rhinos led 8-0 with a Kallum Watkins try and two Kevin Sinfield goals, But Wolves hit back with 34 unanswered points thanks to tries from Rhys Evans, Lee Briers, Richie Myler, Chris Riley, Simon Grix and Joel Monaghan. Leeds then grabbed two tries through Brent Webb and Ryan Hall but Mickey Higham put the result beyond doubt for Warrington before Hall grabbed a late consolation.

Thanks Duff. Yeah i've never really got into the whole line movement thing but as i can see here a lot of people seem to be influenced by it, My picks are made by a combination of things but mainly considering the Rugby League side of things not the lines but if your winning with it then you can't fault what your doing.

So to the reasons behind my biggest bet of the season so far are as follows, My Salford City Reds selections this week vs Leeds Rhinos at Headingley Carnegie Stadium, Salford come into the game against Leeds on the back off a 'Salford City Reds 16-32 Wigan Warriors' defeat against the Champions but it wasn't as easy as the scoreline suggests with Wigan also going over for a late TRY at the end, According to City Reds fans there were plenty of positives to take out of the game and had they taken their opportunities in the match and not come up against one of the competitions Elite teams in Wigan it could well have been a tense finish. Salford are virtually at full strength for the visit to Headingley with skipper Daniel Holdsworth and Prop Ryan Boyle likely to overcome minor injuries that forced them to pull out of last week's match against Wigan, Leeds Rhinos on the otherhand come into the game on the back of successive defeats 'Leeds Rhinos 26-36 Harlequins RL' & last weeks 'Warrington Wolves 40-24 Leeds Rhinos' clash in which Leeds were lucky that some slack Warrington defence towards the end of the match allowed the scoreline to look much more respectable than the performance deserved.
Leeds will go into fridays home game against Salford with major selection problems as they are without a specialist senior prop after all five were ruled out through injury or suspension (England captain Jamie Peacock (Knee Surgery), Ryan Bailey (Groin Surgery), Kylie Leuluai (Torn Pectoral), Luke Burgess (Knee Injury) & Ben Cross (1 Game Suspension) which effectively means if the forwards aren't their to lay the platform for the backs to exploit it could be a long hard night for Leeds, Coach Brian McDermott has had to draft in young Cumbrian forwards Jared Stewart and Brad Singleton who have yet to make their Super League debuts into his 19 Man Squad, Hooker Danny Buderus (Broken Nose) is also another fresh injury doubt but indications suggest he will play due to the injury crisis which also consists of fellow 1st Team Regulars Brett Delaney (Ankle Injury) & Key Man Danny McGuire (Knee Ligaments), With Carl Ablett & Brent Webb only just returning from injuries themselves. The weather in Leeds is atrocious at the minute and strong winds and rain are scheduled around game time tomorrow this indicates the game will have to be played through the forwards and this will delight Salfords forward Pack who will look to dominate a very lightweight looking Leeds side, With all the injuries and the current form of Leeds (Whos fans aren't currently impressed with how the team are performing and should they fall behind early the fans will be on their backs adding extra pressure) who average 30.5 points against them per game i can't honestly believe that the Bookmakers are offering a +16 Handicap advantage to Salford City Reds in a game in which i truely believe that Salford have very realistic possibilities as will their players that they can win this game straight up, Salford do have a habit of keeping games with Leeds competitive over the last two years in which Leeds have had a much healthier and stronger squad available to them than they do Friday.

I can only appologise for this selection and i am still in complete shock at the final result of this game, Looking back at the match everything just pointed towards the game being played in Salfords favour and for about 60 minutes it was played exactly how i imagined it would be with a very equal competitive battle with Leeds just edging ahead at Half-Time Leeds Rhinos 18-12 Salford City Reds, Then for whatever reason i don't know why and the commentators of the game echoed the same view as me, Salford just didn't compete/fell apart in the last 20 minutes of the 2nd Half losing it Leeds Rhinos 28-0 Salford City Reds. A big loss and a huge disappointment but the season is still young and i'll come back stronger.

Well 5 Rounds into engage Super League XVI and Harlequins RL are still throwing up shocks as they defy a +16 Handicap to beat St Helens straight up, elsewhere there were easy wins and Handicap covers for Leeds Rhinos, Castleford Tigers, Huddersfield Giants & Hull Kingston Rovers over Salford City Reds, Catalan Dragons, Bradford Bulls & Crusaders RL respectively, Wigan Warriors managed to come from behind to defeat Hull FC despite having Joel Tompkins Sent-Off with 12 minutes remaining and Warrington Wolves defeated Wakefield Trinity Wildcats but didn't cover the Handicap.

Following on from last weeks appalling 46-12 defeat against Leeds Rhinos last week, Salford City Reds come up against a Hull Kingston Rovers side who boosted by the instant impact of Aussie recruit Willie Mason easily took apart Crusaders RL 40-22. Hull Kingston Rovers are now looking more settled in the Half-Backs with Scott Murrell adjusting to take over from injured Scrum-Half Michael Dobson and adding Willie Mason to an already impressive forward pack (Despite Mick Vella & Clint Newton missing out through injury Joel Clinton comes in to the 19 man squad likely to replace Newton) they can lay the platform for Murrell & Blake Green to expose the defensive frailties of the City Reds, The noise coming out of the Salford camp is trying to shut down Willie Mason which if that's a big focus of theirs then the KR players will have a field day in attack, i personally don't believe they have the players available to counter Mason and he was very impressive in his first run out last week, Salford have also lost their main go forward man in Ray Cashmere to suspension and big impact prop Iafeta Palea'aesina to injury from last weeks 17 and that's considering they couldn't even win the forward battle against an injury ravaged Leeds side missing all of their senior Prop Forwards last week the result looks ominous for Salford in my opinion, I believe Hull Kingston Rovers will tear Salford City Reds apart and not only win the game but win it very comfortably by at least 18+ points.

I'm also really liking the Huddersfield Giants -4 @ 1.91 & Huddersfield Giants Winning Margin 1-12 @ 2.88, Although i'm going to wait until i see the team line-ups for this game before i decide what to bet on the game, Wigan Warriors missing Sam Tomkins means that alot of flair & creativity will be missing out of the side with more pressure on the aging Paul Deacon & Thomas Leuluai, Losing Joel Tomkins who has been an ever present for Wigan since becoming a 1st team regular is another big blow already added to the fact Pat Richards, Stuart Fielden, Brett Finch & Martin Gleeson are already ruled out through injury and Huddersfield Giants welcome back England International Luke Robinson for the first time this season and in my opinion this is the perfect time for them to prove that they are capable of challenging with the best teams this year after a strong start to the season.

Another terrible night and i went with the wrong two leans , It's just so unpredictable in Super League at this moment in time, How Wigan won the match against Huddersfield i don't know especially by that margin, The Giants just couldn't get over the line and they had more than enough chances, It looks like Salford pulled out the performance i was expecting from them last week.

I make my bets based on line movement. The odds on the Crusaders kept dropping pretty sharply over the final 24 hours or so. I managed to pick up a stale $1.91, where other books where some of the lower hold books were down to $1.84 at that stage.

My other bet on the night was Huddersfield-4.5, unfortunately we know how that finished. :-)
