ok, I'm heading to the bottom of the card tomorrow with the lowliest group to tee off..
they aren't starting til around 2pm. Eric Axley over Ben Curtis.
Ben Curtis is in destructo mode. He's made a total of like 59k all season. High 70s and
even 80s line his sorry cards.. maybe he's ready for retirement.. he can be a golf pro
in house at some course .. well.. that's not the only reason, because as far back as I've
checked (over 10 years) he's never played at John Deere. This means not only is he going
in slumping, he's playing a strange course.
On the other hand, Eric Axley, also in the twilight of his career at 41, is playing steady this year.
Axley has made 157k. He currently outranks Curtis by 42 players (255/213). Axley is very
familiar with John Deere. He didn't make the cut last year due to a poor round 1, but shot a
respectable 69 in the 2nd round. In 2009, Axley put up a 66 in the second round. In 2008,
he shot -15 and placed 4th in the tournament. He also played it in 06,07.
At Greenbrier last week, Axley shot 68-67-70-68. Last playing at Travelers in late June,
Curtis went out quick at 78-76.

Thanks man. Pretty good start for 2 out of the 3. Lowry at -4 and T-9th, and Cabrera-Bello at -3. Dubuisson at even par, but he was the long shot in the group anyways. We'll see how they position themselves the next two days.

Indeed, adding Steve Stricker +1300 to win it all at the Deere. He may be a trap, but I feel someone could emerge from that -8 pack. I'll take the odds.

That's two sturdy professionals on my ticket this weekend...let's hope the stay professional. Win or not, I'd like to have a presence on that leader board Sunday.
