Les Cats are desperate for points to climb up the ladder while Widnes have enjoyed a surprisingly strong start to the season. The French outfit are still missing key personnel but have started to perform better in recent weeks. The spread seems high on this one, and most indicators would point towards the Vikings to cover. However, with their biggest game of the season against Warrington looming next Friday I could see a sup-bar Widnes performance here. It just seems too easy to take Widnes.

Super League Thursday May 8 Castleford Tigers vs Leeds Rhinos KO 8PM BST.

An exciting game in prospect as table topping Leeds make the short journey to 3rd place Castleford. This is the biggest game of the season for Cas and the Jungle will be rocking for the visit of their big city neighbours.

Last season the corresponding fixture finished 14-12 and was a tight defensive struggle in tough conditions while at Headingley Leeds triumphed 42-24. The Rhinos have by far the strongest defense in the competition conceding only 94 points in their 11 matches and managed to shut down Wigan and St. Helens in their last two games. Castleford have shown a great deal of attacking flair and have scored more points than Leeds in 2014.

I believe that tonight they can cause the Rhinos problems with the attacking structure coach Daryl Powell has implemented. Having played at full throttle the past few couple of weeks in important fixtures there is the possibility of this being a let down spot for Leeds, while the Tigers should be fully motivated against their fierce rivals. Should be a cracking game with plenty of scoring.

Thanks, it felt little odd taking all those favourites yesterday and not second guess myself on them. The right side is the right side regardless though. I have been very busy recently so only had time to handicap the Sunday matches yesterday and missed everything else. Hopefully I might have a chance to go over the Friday/Saturday games this week.
