I'm agreeing with you on this on Johno, I really like the Cats here - surely the Crows are the defending champs but I think Geelong plays a real solid game at Skilled today. I watched them play in Perth last week and they were solid. I also really like the Suns if Gary plays most of the game, I think they can cover the line and will come out hot in the beginning.

Yeah I believe they will come out hot also but I really rate North this year, they are full strength and really should put GC away, I might stay away from this one.

Yeah mate, Carlton almost full strength and too many guns out for Freo. Carlton won both games last week and were impressive against Sydney. What are your thoughts?

Townsville should never host an afl game again! First of all, there is a reason why even in winter nrl games are played at night! Glad to see you back for another season mate. We might have to make your thread the communal AFL discussion thread. Doesn't look like brettels is around much and I'm too lazy/don't like SBR posters enough generally to spend the time on it again.

I played these as well but at +6.5 and 156.5. I can't figure out why the total is so low and I have earmarked the Crows as a fade team until the books adjust. I don't particularly like that Carlton played Sunday afternoon in Perth, which probably explains why the line is where it is. I don't think the Crows are a bad team, but I think they are overrated. I think everyone underestimates how much losing tippet changes the entire forward structure. I suppose someone like Jenkins or McKernan could step up, but I see them both as players that will come in and out of games. Tippett was/is a fantastic marking target and has recently learnt how to kick a lot better.

Also, if you're into playing off-pinny numbers, the total on the Cats/Kings NBL game is at 150.5 at Pinny and 145.5 at sportsbet/iasbet/paddypower. Its 146.5 at some of my other outs Ive looked too recently, so you should be able to get it.

Hey mate, yeah good to be back, looking forward to what is looking like a great year off footy.

I totally agree that the loss of Tippett was huge. Tex will now get the number 1 back and will most likely get double teamed all year. It's going to be up to the midfielders to get the ball in quick to give him a chance. Jenkins and McKernan will help out occaisionally but it throws out structures.

I didn't get to watch the game tonight but I knew it would be high scoring. I must admit I hadn't heard about the shortened quarters due to the heat. Even still that total was low and I'm glad I jumped on it.
