Tropical moon first time out got out of the gate slow. Was coming up on the rail coming for the first turn .and got steadied.came in again .and tried to swing wide ran into another horse.....so I'm going to give him a big excuse and take a shot

Ok...so in the Arlington Million I'm going to try and beat the 2 favorites.There are a lot of players though

9-Guest Of Honour 15-1 is my win bet.Having improved in every race of his career he is now on par with the best in here and 15-1. He was bottled up for a good portion of the stretch run last race and when finally getting room he outran the outside closer who got the jump for 3rd and was behind Mull Of Killough but still had run left.

1-Real Solution 10-1 who along with the 9 are among few in here with upside.Most have established what they are but these two 4 year olds are still getting better.

The other two are 11-Little Mike and 10-The Apache , both have tactical speed to get position.Can't argue with anyone who thinks Little Mike is the best horse in the race .Think he is being dismissed because of his last race and Dubai but he came into the BC Turf last year off a pop and stop and won by beating a top Group 1 Euro in St Nicholas Abbey.Before that in this very race he beat another one of the best Euros in Afsare(who just dominated a group race by 6 lengths 2 days ago).

As for The Apache he has arguably the best connections in the world in his corner in Mike de Kock and Cristophe Soumillon.In the early part of a horses career de Kock brings them along in South Africa where The Apache was the 2nd best horse to Igugu but when he brought them both to Dubai The Apache surpassed that one.He uses a couple of jocks in South Africa but when he ships elsewhere Soumillon is his 1st call.Soumillon dominates the French scene in Ramon Dominguez fashion in the meantime and has an excellent strike rate wherever he goes.Maybe the best ride I ever saw was him winning the Canadian International at Woodbine on Sarah Lynx who probably should have been about 6th.Nakatani on Victor's Cry in the 2010 Shoemaker wasn't too shabby either.Both races are worth watching if you haven't seen them.


Some others

2-Finnegan's Wake 30-1 could be worth a look in the bottom of exotics.He is almost guaranteed to be one of the fastest horses in the last furlong and he proved he could run with these types by finishing 2nd to Bayrir last year in the Secretariat at Arlington on Million day.

3-Hunter's Light 8-1 was the favorite for the 10 Million $$ Dubai World Cup this year.If it was a few races ago this horse would be the 2-1 favorite.

6-Side Glance 12-1 has been running in the toughest turf races anywhere for the past 10 races.This is the only horse in here that is dropping in class.


The faves

13-Grandeur 7-2 is drawn furthest outside with no early speed so I'm seeing a wide trip.He is going to be bet off his races in California last year but they are like nickel claimers compared to this.

7-Indy Point 9-2 I just don't see what is so impressive to make him 2nd choice .Argentinian races are weak.I have seen these types that win like 15 straight down there come up here and run up the track.Beside that I've read about 10 articles on the million and about 7 picked Indy Point.Maybe at 12 or 15-1 but 9-2 maybe even lower ...no thx

Was expecting another allowance race not a grade 1.He is probably more of like a 15 or 20-1 horse in the field so is an overlay but like a couple others more.Also might as well take him out of stable now that he is going to be coming out of a grade 1 .Not going to go unnoticed anymore.

Wow, was looking at the 1,2,3,4 in the 2nd at Sar. Only way to make $$ was with the 2 Strong Mandate. Out of Tiznow and 2nd gen Deputy Minister and the let him pay $34. Not sure what soured the public on this one.

That DQ really hurt. I had all in the next leg of the Pick-3, which was the last leg of my ticket. I don't mind losing by DQ if I can honestly say the interference cost the other horse the race but in this case i'm not so sure.

I thought the left handed whip sealed his fate.Add the 4 or 5 paths he drifted and I think there would have been a riot had he not come down.


Real Solution was pulling even but hard to say if he would have gone by or The Apache was going to out game him.
