i think last out...he ran a heck of a race........he go into trouble in the first turn.......was outside the entire trip...and he still closed .........i didnt capp the entire race.....but i think if he can get the lead..he has a chance....like the 1 horse there also........Comment -

Does anyone else think justiff has had to many races. And his last took a lot out of himComment -
too many.. no.. 3 going into the derby is normal only with him the first was a maiden race which of course is not common..fighting tooth and nail all the way around not the easiest way to win and according to brisnet pace figures the race was 4-5 lengths fast at the 1st two calls.. also remember that of the 10 horses who've had a shot at the triple crown since beyer figures have been published (1991) his preakness is the slowest of them all and his derby isn't much better.. the counter argument is his last race on a fast track in the santa anita derby was faster than anyone in here has run on a fast trackComment -

The biggest question mark for me is that Justify's slowest Beyer to date is from The Preakness which is 97 and his last three Beyer has been trending downwards. However, his lowest Beyer is still better than the rest of field's highest beyer (except one which was 98). If Justify continues with his downward trend, then any of these can win. But he goes back up to his better Beyer on a fast track, then I don't think any of these can beat. As of now, most likely I will be on Justify only because I think he is just simply better relative to his 3yo competitors. I think Smith will dictate the pace. If it is any other trainer, I will probably bet against him. But Baffert has been here so many times and he knows what it takes to win the Belmont. He has had so many near misses. I don't think he will let it happen again unless something out of the ordinary happens ( as in Charismatic when he broke down near the wire). That's my two cents. GLComment -
