The one thing that jumps out at me so far when handicapping the turf races, is how many closing types are being entered into these races, seems like there just isn't a hot pace to close on. As always with horse racing I'm sure its more complex than that, probably surface bias as well. Wondering what you attribute the success of front runners to. Hard to deny that being on the front is where you want to be so far, but will that hold up? I'm not so sure.

If nothing else Castalleno in the 11th would be nice to have as a price horse, I just can't not take him on a turf course, especially with Bush as a trainer.

Thank you, and yes I've seemed to meet alot of new horse players lately. Although the median age of us is still probably quite high.

As far as if the closers will start run better at Toga, I am not sure if its the surface or the traffic which has been causing the problems. Its opening weekend and since in most races closers have the advantage, there have been alot of closers entered. This could be causing problems with the dash at the end.

On the other hand, the inner turf seems to be a bit better than the outer turf. Tahoe Lake was able to close nicely to almost win the 6th. But did it on the rail. So was it the traffic, and he had a clear lane, or is the turf on the inside better... I really don't know. But at the moment, its been see what horse is probably going to take the lead in the back stretch/far turn... and bet on him.

Great race! Both of those horses showed champion spirit, Delta was just there for a tune up.

we beat everyone again in the team contest, smoking joe had some nice hits , we all had the bomb in race 5 I had the bomb in race 8 you had the bomb in race 9 and sealed it up with the win in the 10th. we are well on our way for a 2 week break for playoffs and could be favored going into playoffs.

Yeah we are doing well.I'm pissed about the ROI bet though.It's Tricky was going to be my pick Wednesday,Thursday,Friday, and then I woke up today and decided to take a shot with a firster...lol

was wondering why is he betting into this race? think overall we have a solid team if one of us slacks it seems like one of the others pick it up and this week we all did well.
