Well, obviously, I don't understand. What do you mean lay 40 @ 11 and 40 @ 12. So, you hit 2 out of 3 and your down -402 and change. I don't get it. Of course, that's what my wife says all the time.

Thanks for the link. That's a new concept for me. I know if I were right 2 of 3, I would be having a good day. So, if I'm reading this right, 40 @ 11, you have to be right (i.e. pick a loser) 92% of the time to make any money? Interesting.

Picking losers isn't as easy as you might think
I tried laying - but couldn't get my head around winning small amounts for the potential big loss ..... I did quite well beating short price favorites for a few months .... but then I figured out if I could beat the fav on a regular basis .... I had a much bigger chance at getting a long price winner.

Yes, I agree JW, especially since the public tends to overbet the favorites. I did an extensive study of the lines many years ago at my local track and found that most of the medium to long price horses were actually overlays in relation to their odds. They didn't win a lot, but they won more than their odds suggested they should have. To me that would make a "lay" strategy very difficult. It's interesting and I look forward to following the OP's results.

What is your record for LOSSES IN A ROW??. I'm thinking about starting very small, continuing to lay horses while doubling down after losses.
