missed 2nd by a head ..5-2 fav winner and 7-2 third choice was 2nd .. 50 cent tri $49.66 .. a good strategy to employ with a horse you like but not bet well

that's a solid triple for those odds .. everybody says but what happens when it wins and I say how about the many you could have cashed when they finish 3rd .. sure the logicals (bet horses) won't always cooperate,but often enough and the hits will be nice..in my opinion when you get a price in 3rd the triples often pay more than they should even with the higher take..this is because people overall aren't capping for 3rd and building around that.. the latter is just playing the bet horses in 1st and 2nd .. no need to get fancy with that

I think it's a solid strategy especially as the odds of that key (for 3rd) horse get into the teens and higher

you have to do what you're comfortable with

the good thing with 50 cents is you can get involved for a small amount.. top 3 bet 1st and 2nd with the key horse in 3rd cost $3 .. favorites under 3-2 might want to key 1st and 2nd with the next 3 which is again $3 ..or just take a stand with it (possibly just 2nd) one way for $1.50 ..of course can always do multiples if you bet bigger

nothing wrong with WP on moderate to big odds horses though or just 2nd with 1-3 bet horses on top


my main thing with price horses when they run well usually gonna wind up 2nd-4th and that's a nice effort for double digit odds .. but you can't be all over the place and have them on top also imo .. you should lose when they win employing this strategy
