I don't bet cause of my finances. I've explained that a few times
in this thread.. I feel on some of the longer ones. playing
the top 3 in 1st and 2nd and keying mine in 3rd and 4th
with all in the other spot not a bad strategy for dime supers
Keying in 3rd with logical or who you like makes some sense to
in triples. I'm talking 20-1 and over although I do pop these on
occasion ;-)

top and bottom. Mclaughlin good with these types

feel he is the best 7f horse in the race if things break
right for him.. He ran a similar running line to his last
6/8 and 8/3 and returned 4 weeks later to run big.. not
wins but big efforts. He has 4 weeks rest here. Castellano
has to stick with the undefeated pletcher so not a knock
that he's not riding

I'm a complete newb at this horse racing stuff. Can you please offer me some insight on where you get the information to cap these races? thanks in advance.

Thank you jbex. I really like the 2 but I have literally no idea how to cap chad brown's horse. Was an 85k purchase.

First off as I said it's only a minor opinion.. I figure elite trainer
+ horse for sale 1st out much lower than purchase price = middle
of the road performance. He's not going to win (they certainly do
every so often) but horse also won't embarrass trainer and have
absolutely nothing. That's how I view it

I buy the racing form at the newstand but you can get
it via drf. com also

part of me says if he has a chance of winning by 5 lengths theres no way he's entered for 12.5, then the other part of me says chad may want to boost the winning percentage. the same owner had another horse claimed away from him with chad, and it was a pretty impressive horse.

Without seeing the horse I can guarantee you the horse is racing sound going in to the race. He might very well have growing problems that might cast a doubt on durability, but rest assured that a guy like Chad would not risk everything or quite frankly anything he has worked for to run an unsound horse as a firster that already has a red flag in the form.

In today's world, N.Y.or Gulfstream as well as plenty of other quality places horses are gone over very carefully by the state vet the morning of the race.

thanks, it does a lot. was talking to a few trainers and they said the same. was/still am very interested in him but couldnt pull the trigger. first time starters scare me a little and i'm new to the game, but soo tempting.

if he blows out the field im going to be miserable that i didnt put in a claim.

Well you might be but I have claimed them when they won by 5 and never got them back to the races and I have claimed them when they fell down and made 6 figures with them so as much as it might seem a certain way, it isn't necessarily.

Get some one to look at him in the paddock and warming up as well as running and pulling up and they can probably tell you whats up with him. Chances are , he's not stealing with him.

i appreciate the insight. the 2 trainers i spoke with hadn't seen the horse train but they assured me that i should let them take a look at him, and then if i still like him after the race then they can make an offer to the owner.

we'll see what happens. he looked pretty decent though, but its almost a guarantee he would run well and make me feel bad about it because thats just how life works! at least i bet him and used him in a pick 3.
