wow that's been going on for 20 years now !! believe you have to win a satellite tournament to get into that and it's live play obviously..if you find something about the format let me know..be curious how they structure it and the rules

[Easy-Rider 66]

Day 1 and Day 2 (January 27-28)Day 1 and Day 2 of the Contest consists of Win and Place wagering on 18 races each day for a total of thirty (36) races over the first two-days of the Contest. Mythical Win/Place wagers must be placed on a single horse in each of the 36 races.

• Each Player will have a fictional bankroll of $144.00 in his/her account and must place 36 fictional $2.00 Win wagers and 36 fictional $2.00 Place wagers for a total of 72 wagers over two days totaling $144.00.
• Win/Place wagers must be placed on a single horse in each of the 36 races. Failure to make any of the 72 wagers will result in forfeiture of the mythical bankroll designated for each wager which is not made (i.e. a score of zero for the designated race and a loss of $4.00).
• There will be eight (8) Mandatory Races on each day of the first two days of the Contest, and Players must wager on those races. If a Player fails to wager on a Mandatory Race, the Player will receive zero (0) points for the Mandatory Race.
• If a Mandatory Race is cancelled for any reason, an alternate race may be selected by NHC Officials to serve as a Mandatory Race or the cancelled Mandatory Race may be replaced by the addition of an Optional Race to the tournament format.
• On each of the first two days of the Contest, Players may choose 10 races from the list of “Eligible Tracks” in which to place a mythical bet (“Optional Races”). The Optional Races must differ from the Mandatory Races.
• In each of the Mandatory and Optional Races, Players must place one $2.00 Win wager and one $2.00 Place wager on the same horse. Multiple wagers on different horses in any single race are prohibited.
• There is a cap placed on all mutuel payoffs. The Win cap is 20/1 ($42.00). The Place cap is 10/1 ($22.00).
• Official track rules and regulations shall apply to the Mandatory and Optional Races.
• Official track rules shall apply to horses wagered on in the Contest.
• Mandatory and Optional Races are subject to change.
• Bankrolls are mythical and may not be cashed at the end of the Contest.
• The top 10% of entries, as ranked by cumulative mythical bankroll from Day 1 and Day 2 of the NHC, will advance to the Day 3 semi-finals of the NHC.
• In the event of a tie for final position in the top 10%, all who are tied will make it into the semi-final round.
• In the event an individual has more than one entry ranked in the top 10% at the conclusion of Day 2 of the NHC, both entries will advance into the semi-final round.
• Entries advancing to the semi-final round will each be awarded Contest prize money. Should there be ties in the official order of finish, prize money will be split equally among those who are tied.

Day 3 (January 29)Semi-Final Round

• Individuals qualifying an entry or entries for the semi-final round will carry their mythical bankroll accumulated from Day 1 and Day 2 of the NHC into the semi-final round.
• All other Contest participants and entries not ranked in the top 10% by cumulative bankroll from Day 1 and Day 2 will compete in a separate, free entry Consolation Tournament (see “Consolation Tournament Official Rules”) with a starting fictional bankroll of Forty Dollars ($40.00).
• An individual with two entries who qualifies one entry into the semi-final round cannot play his or her second entry in the Consolation Tournament.

Semi-Final Round and Consolation Tournament Format

• The semi-final round and Consolation Tournament formats will consist of Win and Place wagering on 10 races beginning with the first Contest race at approximately 9:00 a.m. PT and concluding at approximately 12:30 p.m. PT.
• Each Player must place 10 fictional $2.00 Win/Place wagers (on the same horse in each individual race) for a total of 20 wagers totaling $40.00. Failure to make any of the 20 wagers will result in forfeiture of the fictional bankroll designated for each wager which is not made (i.e. a score of zero (0) for the designated race and a loss of $4.00).
• The semi-final round and Consolation Tournament races will consist of 10 Optional Races.
• Win/Place wagers must be placed on a single horse in each of the 10 Optional Races.
• Players may choose their 10 Optional Races from the list of “Eligible Tracks” and “Eligible Races” operating during the semi-final and Consolation Tournament.
• In each of the Optional Races, Players must place one $2.00 Win wager and one $2.00 Place wager on the same horse. Multiple wagers on different horses in any one race are prohibited.
• There is a cap placed on all mutuel payoffs. The Win cap is 20/1 ($42.00). The Place cap is 10/1 ($22.00).
• The top 10 highest mythical bankrolls, including ties, as ranked by individual cumulative bankroll following Day 1, Day 2 and the Semi-Final round, will advance to the “Final Table” of the NHC.
• Individuals with two entries in the NHC, who do not qualify either entry into the semi-final round, may play two entries in the Consolation Tournament Contest.
• In the event an individual has two entries ranked in the top 10 at the conclusion of the Semi-Final round, both entries will advance to the Final Table.
• Official track rules and rulings shall apply to horses wagered on in the Contest.
• Bankrolls are mythical and may not be cashed at the end of the Contest.
• The Consolation Tournament and semi-final round of the NHC will conclude at the same time.
• Please refer to the “Consolation Tournament Official Rules” relating to the Consolation Tournament.

Final Table Contest Format

• The individuals competing at the Final Table will carry their mythical bankroll accumulated from Day 1, Day 2 and the Semi-Final round into the Final Table.
• Each individual competing in the Final Table Contest must be present in the Main Ballroom at the Final Table during the Final Table Contest.
• Each individual competing in the Final Table Contest must sign the Final Table “Wagering Format and Consent Form.”
• The Final Table Contest format will consist of mythical $2.00 Win/Place wagering on seven (7) Mandatory Races, with the first Final Table race beginning at approximately 1:30 p.m. PT.
• Mythical $2.00 Win/Place wagers must be placed on a single horse on each of the seven (7) Final Table Mandatory Races for a total of 14 wagers totaling $28.00.
• Failure to make any of the 14 wagers will result in forfeiture of the fictional bankroll designated for each wager which is not made (i.e. a score of zero (0) for the designated Mandatory Race).

• If a Mandatory Race is cancelled for any reason, another Mandatory Race will be selected by NHC Officials to serve as a Mandatory Race at the Final Table, or a Mandatory Race may be cancelled altogether with the Final Table reverting to one less Mandatory Race.
• There is a cap placed on all mutuel payoffs. The Win cap is 20/1 ($42.00). The Place cap is 10/1 ($22.00).
• Win/Place wagers on each of the seven (7) Final Table Mandatory Races must be made no later than approximately Two Minutes to Post Time for each of the Mandatory Races (pari-mutuel machines will be designated for Final Table Contest play only). Final Table participants will be required to provide a race selection and alternate selection for each of the Final Table Mandatory Races. Participants should refer to the “Final Table Wagering Format and Consent Form,” provided by NHC officials, for a complete description of Final Table wagering procedures.
• All Contest wagers placed through the Contest System shall be final.
• Official track rules and regulations shall apply to the Mandatory Races.
• Official track rulings shall apply to horses wagered on in the Contest.
• Mandatory Races are subject to change or be cancelled.
• Bankrolls are fictional and may not be cashed at the end of the Contest.
• Following the conclusion of the seven (7) Mandatory Races that comprise the Final Table, the Final Table participants will be ranked from first through last by their total mythical bankroll accumulated during Day 1, Day 2, the Semi-Final round and the Final Table Contest.
• The individual qualifying to the Final Table and amassing the highest final mythical bankroll from all Contest Win and/or Place wagers at the end of the Final Table Contest will be declared the “Grand Prize Winner.” The Grand Prize consists of prize money (see “NHC Official Prize Money” breakdown), an Eclipse Award as the Horseplayer of the Year, a ring or pendant, and a qualifying berth to the 2018 NHC.

POINT TABULATION

• Qualifiers accrue fictional earnings (i.e. points) based on mythical Win wagers and mythical Place wagers. All Contest earnings are fictional and are for scoring purposes only.
• If a Qualifier does not place a wager in a Mandatory Race or in the specified number of Optional Races, the Qualifier scores zero (0) points for the race in question.
• If a Qualifier places more than the permitted number of Required Wagers on any Optional Races in a given day, such wagers will be nullified in chronological order, with the most recent Optional Races nullified first.
• Earnings/points will be accrued in gross based on official track payouts, subject to the payoff cap.

TIEBREAKERS

• In the event of a tie for First Place, there will be a one race playoff to determine the NHC Champion. The participant’s selection that finishes first or closest to first in the Official Order of Finish (regardless of overall placing in the race) will be declared the winner.
• If both participants select the same horse in the playoff, each of the participant’s alternate selections will be used to determine the overall winner in the same format as outlined above. If both participants select the same alternate horse, the following tie-breaker procedures will apply: (1) The Grand prize winner will be the Player selecting the greater number of winners over the three (3) days of the Contest; (2) In the further event of a tie, the Player with the greater number of winners in the Mandatory Races will be declared the winner; (3) In the further event of a tie, the Player with the highest single mutuel payout (uncapped) will be declared the winner; and (4) In the further event of a tie, the Player with the next highest single mutuel payout (uncapped) will be

first time starter with very precocious pedigree top and bottom.. dam has produced two winners from as many starters.. up for 50k but that is just right for this horse's ped specs imo.. the rail in sprints at oaklawn is tremendous
