No, it's CAL over 2' (two and a half goals) for the game. Do you see the mark to the right of the "2", that represents a half (in this case goal). For this to be graded a win, CAL needs to score 3 or more goals in the game. Same holds true for DET but they need 4 (or more) for it to win. No "dumb" question. Gl with your action tonight.

Yes, it has but it's ok. The numbers to the LEFT of the team(s) are the numbers used by the books/locals to grade the action quicker.

DET is played to win 10 units total - for me that's $1,000 US Dollars.
CAL is played to win 20 units - for me that's $2,000 US Dollars.

Total Wagers (Both teams)
MN & DET over 5' to win 10.50 units risked from 10 units.

Team Total Wagers
DET over 3', risked 6.60 units to win 6.00 units ($660/$600)
CAL over 2', risked 7.25 units to win 5.00 units ($725/$500)

It's over 3.5 (3') for DET. Meaning DET need 4 or more goals for me to collect. For CAL their team total is 2.5 (2') meaning they need 3 goals or more for me to collect.

Over in the NBA threads I quoted someone here about how they described the CK Mafia...by repeating that, I was just trying to point out that that person got the point of what we do over there. I came here to the hockey threads to gain knowledge about the wagering side of the sport.

Analytical wise, TodaysAction, what makes for a good and sound hockey wager? When looking at the lines what should I keep an eye out for? Is there considerable line movement, such as reverse line movements? And also is this sport like any other sport wherein a star player goes down and then the team wins the next game anyway? Are the good defensive teams a good wager to fade the other team's total amount of goals they will score, or are shutouts sporadic and thus skew the overall number, (i.e. a better goalie on a certain team produces more shutouts than the backup or vice versa?). I mean what makes for a good hockey wager?
