I don't see CBJ worrying the Sabres tonight at all and although the Oilers have the potential to be giant killers I think the Caps will steamroll them tonight. Both in regulation and -1.5 Sabres for me. Good luck with your picks.

Fun fact from the match preview: "Chicago looks for its first victory at Carolina in more than 13 years when the teams face off Friday night."

All I'm saying is that Carolina should be a small favorite here and not the other way around. Chicago has a good start but they haven't played any top teams yet, except Boston - a game that they lost.
Carolina had a bad start vs good teams, but then they beat Boston twice and Buffalo. A letdown was expected vs Winnipeg/Ottawa, so these loses are not a huge surprise.
I expect Carolina to bring their A game today. I can't say the same about Chicago who come after a lucky win vs Anaheim.
I'm slightly biased on Carolina because I had a bet on them to win the 2005/2006 Stanley Cup, several weeks before the regular season ended

I always thought the "shots on goal" stats are a bit misleading. It doesn't tell you how accurate those shots are. Some teams like to make 2-3 extra passes and have a better position before taking a shot, other teams like to throw pucks at the net hoping for a lucky bounce.

Interesting, thanks for the reply. I've been leaning towards taking the Hawks in reg for +125 but will probably stay off the game altogether.
