Exactly. Took them to win it all @ +105, could have had twice that if I'd pulled the trigger earlier. Gonna miss them when they're gone, wish I'd have started betting this tournament earlier. Thanks to DG for posting his picks. Hope you kill the book today Redman!

Sunday IIHF Play

RUS/SLV Over 5.5 (+103)

Love Russia tomorrow, this is a very strong team with both depth and top end facing off against a battered, naturally inferior opponent.

Slovakia is down to 5 healthy defenders for tomorrow. They are also missing their starting goalie and a top 9 forward in Marcel Hossa. Chara will be double shifting at every opportunity and, while he is a supreme talent, his effectiveness is slightly lessened on a bigger ice surface due to his average to above average mobility. I would also expect a 30+ minute workload to wear him down as the game progresses, especially with the more skating on bigger ice.

Slovakia is all about the counterattack game. If Russia doesn't beat itself with bad turnovers at the opposing blue line, Slovakia will be hard pressed to score period. If they give Slovakia some odd man breaks by being careless or cute with the puck, they will give a weaker team an unnecessary chance to win.

If Slovakia manages to take a lead after the first, Russia still has a decent chance. If Russia is up, there should be easy middle/hedge chances.

Excellent I liked the overs on that game as well. I've been itching for a good spot to make a max play I see you only are laying 2 down is that because you dont think it is a strong play?

I know Russia will get 3-4 most likely. Slovakia should get 1-2 for sure but I'm not too sure if they will get much more. I was really hoping for a RUS/SWE final then I would have went big on 1st and game over.

It's hard to make a big play when the two teams playing are ranked 1 & 2 in goalkeeping for the tourney both allowing under 2 goals a game. I do agree that in all likelihood this game will go over I can't explain how, who, what or when but, I did find this piece of info interesting.

These are the top 4 plus/minus players in the tournament. I feel good about laying down a play on Russia -1.5

Final day for IIHF Tourney... Too bad, it's been a real cash cow...

I think today is going to be another 'over day' for both games. Along with the injury situation facing SVK, I see Russia having an 'ego-battle happening between Malkin & OV so I expect this to be another high scoring affair (Guess 6 - 2 again !?!). All of my bets for Russia will be doubled & possibly some live action as well The O/U is 5.5 paying evens - might just have to triple that one...

Finland vs Czech Republic should be a tighter match (Hopefully) I see a fast start - battle in the middle, and a couple / few goals in the 3rd period with the Finns taking the bronze.

I'm also going out on a limb and taking phoenix & under 4.5 - I figure that they can break the sweep --- unless they've already beaten themselves...
