man why do you only bet first period overs/unders? The other periods seem to have a bit more juice but with empty netters, wouldn't a third period over make sense sometimes? Or is the first period so difficult to predict that it'd be impossible for the other periods lol? I also understand that you have good book for hockey live bets, so maybe if you didn't have that source and the option to bet after seeing the previous periods, would you be betting other periods as well?

If you want to bet 2nd and 3rd period overs before the game starts you're looking at around -150 chalk most of the time. 1st periods on average are the lowest scoring of the 3 but offer good value and are usually +$. But yes having a good book that offers live betting at intermissions is also another big reason. The 3rd is usually the highest scoring period but betting them blind could be dangerous with that chalk especially in blowouts (4-0, 5-1 after 2nd) as the teams up usually dump and chase and kill the clock in the 3rd if they're up big.
