Just how impressive are the Stanley Cup favourite Vancouver Canucks?

canucks are breaking all kinds of franchise records, leading the league in almost every category as a team and individual players. while detroit is a consistent team, they by no means dominate anything. if anything, sharks would be the other team in the west to pose a chance, but we'll wait until after first round to see if sharks or redwings still in it

What the Canucks have accomplished this season is nothing short of oustanding. They've been head and shoulders above the 29 other teams in regular season play.

However, in a best-of-7 series, you never know what can happen. Clearly the Nucks have really good depth at every position, but with the loss of Alex Edler and Dan Hamhuis (how long will he be sidelined anyway?), they're without two great all-around dmen. Now, Ehrhoff-Ballard-Bieksa-Salo is still a very solid top-4, but it's not a dominant defensive squad without those two guys. To me, guys like Rome, Alberts and Tanev are journeymen...

I could see them struggle defensively if they happen to face a strong offensive team like the Hawks, the Wings or the Sharks in their quest for a SC Final appearance.

Now here is a gentleman who is indeed telling it like it is....

Yeah slight error on his part but the wicked video makes up for it. Wish the Nucks would bring back the black, red and yellows they are sharp as hell.

The west is very weak. It wont be a big deal if the nucks go thru into the finals. They should . THe only problem is that they choke and they have some pretty soft guys as there main men. THe reg season means nothing in the playoffs as the caps found out last year. Luongo lets in goals in the playoffs that he doesnt all year. That has to change.

i agree with you that luongo needs to be careful, but this year if he starts to flop we have a really good backup ready to go. i dont think the west is weak when it comes to playign outside the conference though, west has done really good against the east. 11 of the 15 teams have winning records against the eastern conference teams. but like you said, regular season means nothing come playoff time

It is painfully obvious that the Canooks choke in the playoffs, always have, always will.....and as somebody already
said, they are marshmallow soft.....just blow on them and they fall down.......Luongo turns
sieve as soon as the playoffs start.....Things get ugly real fast......

The regular season means nothing.....

So, how impressive are the Canooks?? Not Much....

But there is a Silver Lining.....

I think the true, died in the wool Canook fan already knows this......they know once the
postseason starts...they shouldnt expect too much...all these years of Canook playoff futility
have conditioned the true Vancouver fan from having false hope......

The West is more balanced as a whole but yeah up top only the Canucks have been solid from start to finish. The Wings and Sharks have both been streaky. Detroit's team is soft as hell and they don't have a lot of hard-nosed guys yet they always manage to be in the big show regularly. The Nucks will prove themselves this year.
