*Removing the Isles because they line is now dropping...they shouldn't have been a dog in the first place so...if you can get them at better odds than Ottawa...I'd take it. My book has them and -110 now so..won't be on them.

** St. Louis is also no longer a play...today has been rough, and I miscalculated that line...they should have been +165 so there was no reason to play that game at +150 (in my mind)...glad someone else brought this to my attention.

I struggled really badly... it seems to be setting in. I shouldnt have second guessed myself. Really like the Rangers last night, but didnt pull the trigger.
And holy crap are the Bs hot. 7 more last night. I suggest you ride them for a while. they might win 10 in a row.

Yes, I sometimes place opposite bets in NBA live which turn out to be winners As for the NHL dogs, it is always about periods. Sometimes the dogs don´t hit at all, or it´s much tougher to find the winning ones. Therefore even betting dogs every day is not very advisable.

I bet them every day in hockey...but if there isn't a play/value I won't make plays...but I don't like betting -money in hockey.

The Isles defense was awful last night. If the Flames can defend decently they will have scoring chances because the Sens' defense is not very strong and was exposed badly in Boston.

Man, I hate betting - money everywhere. In hockey, it´s not necessary, as you can be doing well playing only dogs. But it is almost inevitable in NBA with spreads and totals...

I am not afraid to bet -money if I feel it is right in the relevant match. A good example is tonight. I am all over the Lightning to win in regulation at -money but for me it's a great bet and the odds are juicy, because the Devils beat them in New Jersey. TBL will not have liked losing to the worst team in the NHL, so I expect them to kick some ass tonight. Am also on the Lightning PL at very nice odds.

The whole point of this thread was to have success in hockey. juice, +/- means NOTHING. the only thing that matters is whether or not you win the bet. it sucks more to lose when you bet - $. but there is nothing wrong with betting favorites. especially if they are winners.
The problem with hockey is that every game is so evenly matched, and when you start looking at favorites, too, you get biased and overthink things. I have always failed at hockey, but now that I have eliminated the favorites, I am up 805. Go figure.

When I saw the matchup today, the Blues struck me at first sight as a clear value. But the more I thought of it, the more I wanted to play the Sharks on the puckline. Confusing. Also like the Devils to make it 3 in a row, but obviously can´t force myself to place it Btw, the Isles look good. GL!

Nice stat I found whilst going through my analysis:

The blues have only not gone on a winning streak ONCE after winning a game. So after breaking a losing streak, the blues have gone on to win more than one game consecutively every time but once. They are an incredibly streaky team and this is a perfect opportunity to win twice in a row against a Sharks side devoid of any confidence whatsoever. Morale will be low, tempers will be flaring in the locker room, the coach will be getting desperate too.

The Blues are a SOLID dog play tonight.

Other than Dallas, my play of the night is the St Louis Blues.
