On paper the Canucks should slaughter the Isles but they sometimes have a tendency to play down to bad teams levels. However this year they have been a lot better at this. I think they should be able to take it in regulation. I see a 4-1 type of game today.

DJ. Life long Devils fans here. What do you think has gotten into this team? Brodeur finally coming of age? They've always been a defensive minded team and such, but this year they just don't seem to have it.

Brodeur is finally showing his age. He has been the back bone of the team for years and it seems like his tenure as the leagues top goalie is over. Also, having Parise out really hurts them. The devils have never been an extremely offensive team. They were always a defensive power house that won games in their own end, esp with one of the best goalies ever to play the game. Without that stellar goaltending they are constantly play catch up and their offense just isnt powerful enough. They only have 78 goals on the season which isnt going to allow for too many victories. Elias has the most points on the team and he only has 30. They are going to need some rebuilding time. By the way i am and islander fan so i can feel you pain.

Cammalleri is also out for MTL. Lundqvist isnt remotly close to the best goalie in the NHL but he does have the potential for huge performances. A struggling MTL team against a good goalie isnt a great TT to play. Not saying it wont happen but having Cami out and the game being played in NY i dont love the odds. MTL has scored 3 or more in 4 of the past 10.

Brodeur's play is finally declining but it's not totally his fault obviously. The Devils are missing Parise badly and Kovalchuk has been pretty useless this year. The main problem is scoring, the Devils are last in the league and are averaging a pathetic 1.85 goals for a game. Not gonna win many games when you rarely score over 2 goals. To put it in perspective my Canucks have scored almost twice as many goals as the Devils this year, that's pretty bad.
