Another disappointment by Detroit and 27 shots in 2 periods for Chicago but no goals, Varlamov had to choose tonight's match to screw me up!

Detriot is turning out to be a joke. What is it now? like 5 straight losses 9 at home or something? 5 going into ot? Pathetic.

        Anaheim Ducks -1 @ +115 MarathonBet 0.5 unit
Anaheim Ducks team toals over 2.5 @ -121 Pinnacle 0.5 unit

Interesting matchup with teams who didn't see eachother in previous season, prior to that Devils were owning the last 3 mutual matches and before that Ducks were dominating the series wth 3 victories. I can see why the odds on Anaheim are rising... New Jersey is on a winning streak (minus the LA loss) while Ducks are on a losing streak. As for the last match of both teams it seems like an interesting info because both played the same opponent - NJ has beaten Pittsburgh, Anaheim has lost vs them, though they were on the road. Devils are more rested tonight but they are beginning a road trip while Ducks are the only undefeated team at home so far and after the crappy recent road record - 1 point in 4 games - they will look to bounce back at home ice. They have worked around the injuries so 1st line is back and ready to score. At least they should be, can't say they were producing much vs Penguins. They had some nice chances, especially in the 1st period where they were dominant but Fleury stopped all of their attempts. Devils are probably playing the best hockey of the season, Jagr and Brodeur are in good shape but I wouldn't trust that hot streak to last long with these two. I expect them to get outshot in Anaheim tonight. I think this match can go as a huge home victory for more than a goal or another offensive choke in which case New Jersey should claim it. In the 8 home games Anaheim has covered the handicap 6/8 times but New Jersey tends to play close matches on the road so I'll go safe with half a unit on handicap tonight.

Tailin' -1,0 for Ducks. I am more confident with that due to Devils' low goal conceding trend and we better take 2-1 as a push to our side. But you know what, i see you wager at marathonbet for those -1 and 2,5+ goals bets but i can suggest you to look at betcityru. They are the 2nd best bookie in that Russian/Yugoslavian area and for ice hockey calculations, they include overtime as well. So a game goes to overtime by 2-2; Ducks score at that time 3-2 as the end, I would get a push and a won by betting over there. Just a suggestion!

Oh that's cool. I didn't know much about the bookies that generally USA plays at. But at least there is no charge for withdrawal over here(Europe). But I feel like shootout is generally a coin-flip if you don't got some extreme good forwards, such as Overchkin, Malkin, Kopitar calibre.

Thanks! I'll definitely take a look at Betcityru. You can probably see I'm European by my choice of bookies. MarathonBet and Pinnacle normally have the best odds, Tempobet seems good also but I'm not using it. They'll probably limit my account soon at MarathonBet so I'll take a look into the suggested bookie.

Are you sure? If a team plays tied, you lose the regulation bet while you can still push if they win in OT/SO if you play -1 handicap according to you but the odds for -1 are much better than for win in regulation. Am I missing something here?

Some teams are better at shootout because they have a goalie who is good at "reading the SO moves" or sometimes him taking the initiative (fake poke check and so on). For example Pittsburgh has value in SO because Fleury is usually very good at it.

                  I found a nice bet:

Anaheim Ducks more shots on goal -3.5 @ +110 Betcityru

Here are some stats I gathered:
                  Anaheim at home: 33.5 S/G
New Jersey on the road: 26.8 S/G

                  Anaheim in average: 32.5 S/G
New Jersey in avg.: 25.6 S/G

I think Anaheim will step out strong on home ice, they want to start scoring again. As much as I have watched them play, they never had troubles creating chances, just couldn't capitalize in the past few road matches. Fleury was saving the day vs Pittsburgh... and Devils usually don't have that many shots so I think Anaheim's defense shouldn't be an exception tonight.

Wow Anaheim Sucks are getting outshot by 0-11 in 3rd period after leading for 7 SOG prior to the 3rd period. Now all I need is Devils to tie the game up...

                      1-2 on the day.

Phoenix Coyotes team totals over 2.5 @ -124 MarathonBet

Phoenix is 10-0 scoring more than 2.5 goals at home so far, in average they are among the top scoring teams with 3.29 G/G. On the other side Colorado is 7-1 allowing less than 2.5 goals on the road, in average they are among the teams with best defense allowing only 2.10 G/G. Coyotes have won vs some of the impressive opponents in November, they only let go 3 points on 8 matches. They have beaten West coast rivals Anaheim, San Jose, Vancouver, St. Louis and lost to Chicago after SO. Last they have crushed Tampa Bay 4 days ago with 6-3 and they should be well rested tonight. They have a very hot and balanced offensive lineup which is producing goals. Mike Smith is currently at scary 8-0-1 with a 2.39 GAA and 92.1 SV% at home. His opponent tonight is not any worse, Varlamov stopped 36/37 SOG against Chicago and secured the high victory for his team. Prior to that Colorado found themselves in a mini-crysis losing 3 matches with high goal ratio of 5-13. Losing to Florida for sure didn't add to their confidence. They are still without Duchene but Stastny has stepped up and it seems like the alarm after 3 losses was not called for. Tonight they won't have an easy work with Phoenix who is 9-0-1 at home. I'll rather go with the trend Phoenix is having so far and trust Colorado's inconsistency will bury them tonight.

Toronto Maple Leafs team totals over 2.5 @ -134 Pinnacle

Toronto is getting back on track after the 3 road losses. They have scored 9 goals in the two home matches vs Sabres and Islanders. I have noticed they were dominating on powerplay, well they are 3rd best in the league (24.7 %). Tonight Kadri will return after the suspenssion which should add to the team alot as the other first two centres are still injured. Nasvhille is in a similar spot, they have won last 2 matches after some awful road games. It seems they have found a temporary replacement for Rinne, young Czech goalie Mazanec has brought his team victories over Chicago and last his 1st career shutout in Detroit. The only mutual season match so far belongs to Maple Leafs, they have won by 4-0 in Nashville. Toronto has scored more than 2 goals in 7/10 home matches while Nashville has allowed more than 2 goals in 9/13 road games. Seems like a good spot to expect Maple Leafs to score at least 2 tonight.

San Jose's successful roadtrip where they have gathered 7/10 points is over, they are back on home ice. They have concluded the roadtrip with a tough loss by 5-1 in Chicago but they were visibly tired and I can imagine the concentration wasn't great and with thoughts they were silently back home already + Chicago was looking to bounce back after the painful loss in Nashville. They played 5 road matches in 8 days so I think collecting 7 points is very good. Sharks look healthy as Brent Burns might return into the lineup tonight as well. Tampa Bay will continue to struggle on the road at West coast. They have lost in LA and Phoenix, allowing 11 goals. On Sunday Bishop was pulled out and Lindback who will start today allowed 2 goals in 15 shots. With his 1-4-0, 3.16 GAA and 87.5 SV% he doesn't look good at all but the main problem of Lightning remains injury of Stamkos. I think Sharks will shut their opponent down tonight.

                                      Olimpija Ljubljana @ -109 Pinnacle

Innsbruck is currently one of the worst teams in the league, perhaps even worse than Olimpija Ljubljana. They have lost 7 matches straight, they are 1-12 on the road so far in the season.Yesterday they have lost in Villach by 4-0 and today they play a new match in 18-19 hours. A quite similar situation was one month ago when Innsbruck played in Klagenfurt and the next day B2B in Ljubljana. Despite Olimpija being the worse team they have lost with 5-1. Innsbruck was tired and couldn't match Olimpija's pace. To focus a bit on Olimpija, they are waking up. After the terrible start in the season they have recently beaten Alba Volan in B2B matches and for the first time in the season won a road match. During the break for national team they have acquired defenseman K. MacAulay from Medvescak Zagreb (playing in KHL) who has already proven as a good reinforcement, he scored both goals in regulation on Thursday's victory over Alba Volan. Ross is also back in defense after serving 2 matches suspenssion. The team is still among the weakest in the league but they have regained some confidence and got some hope that they might still be able to get into playoffs. Even if they end up last after the first part of the season, the league system allows them to battle other weaker teams for the final 2 playoff spots.

If you want to cover the bet, the odds for Anaheim got higher. Hiller is confirmed to start tonight so I'll stay on Phoenix.

I'll add this one, Penguins are back in the offense and tonight Fleury will start so he might be the game changer here.

Shakhter Soligorsk is in big financial troubles so important players have left the club after not getting paid for more than 3 months. Current squad consists of young and inexperienced players which have lost last 3 matches. On the other side home team Metallurg Zhlobin is in good form, they have won last 6 out of 7, the only loss came in OT against league leader.

Battle for 3rd place in Central Division. At this point Minnesota seems quite similar to Colorado. Both teams are coming from a loss. Both teams are defensively oriented with solid defense and very good goaltending. Both teams are recently having issues with offensive firepower, both teams can seek the reasons for that in injuries. Colorado has the best defense in the West and outstanding net-minding duo - Varlamov and Giguere. Tonight Giguere is confirmed to start, he is 5-1-0 with a 1.73 GAA and 94.7 SV%. The only black mark on his record sheet is recent loss vs Blues where he allowed 5 goals on 23 shots. They are struggling with injuries in the offense - Duchene is back but he is not at his 100 % yet, Tanguay, Stastny and Wilson are absent. They only scored 2 goals in last 2 matches. Minnesota has dropped 2 games in a row now. Parise's injury is visible as they have only scored a goal in these 2 matches. First goalie Backstrom is not even close to the current form of Harding who was also recently injured but seems to be back - he was practicing - so he is likely to start tonight. Wild's defense has dropped a bit, they are now 5th in West but still pretty solid. To sum it up: 2 defensive teams with good goaltending and some recent lack of scorers in the offense, it seems like an totals under. Both teams have played last 2 matches under 5.5.

Division rivals both struggling with bad form and many injuries. Ducks have lost 5 straight, then won 2 and now lost the last one again in Dallas. They were tied at 1-1 after 2 periods but then they allowed 3 goals in less than a minute and in the end lost with 3-6. They lack players in the defense due to injuries - Souray, Sbisa, Beauchemin and Allen + Fasth. Calgary recently managed to get 5 out of 6 points and things were looking good also on last match vs Chicago when they had a result 2-0 already but Chicago is too experienced team so they tied the match in the final period and in the final seconds scored a game winner. Bad news are that Monahan and Wideman got injured in the match vs Blackhawks so they will keep company to Galiardi, Giordano and Glencross on IR. Definitely a tough match for both teams but Anaheim is slowly losing their 2nd place in division so they could use more points. Their attack is still powerful, even without Silfverberg and Koivu they have Getzlaf, Perry and Perreault who are producing points in every match so they should take advantage of all the injuries Calgary is dealing with. Anaheim has won the first mutual match of the season with 3-2, I think they will win tonight as well.
