Now that I think I have a 'model' that might satisfy your definition, I can make all the same points as above. Which model is best? Despite what anyone says, there is no exact scientific method to choose among them.

if youre creating the model from 'primitives' then you can back test easily and then pick the best one

sure

what about derivative models? you cant backtest when your model is mostly derived from lines

i bet you will say this isnt a model then and i would disagree

i wonder what % of people use derivative models or derived from primitive models

it takes a lot of knowledge and patience to go primitive way and i wonder how many who try succeed

this forum has guys who succeeded so it looks like many succeeded but all the failures have drifted away
