Open teasers allow you to tease one game, then leave the 2nd leg open for another time. Depends on the book on how much time they'll allow. For your purpose here you could look at 1-week and 2-week windows.

Thanks, Pico, for doing the research. And I'm willing to concede that for someone who bets blindly, Wong teasers are probably a good deal.

But based on these numbers (and I only counted 10 Wong teasers), 5 would have won straight, 3 lost even with the teaser points, and 2 (Falcons and Vikings) won because of the teaser points. So the teaser points only made a difference 20% of the time. But you have to offset this advantage with the possibility (probability) that at least a couple of the straight winners would have turned into losers if one had to hook them up with another side to put in a teaser.

So if I'm a successful handicapper, it still doesn't seem like betting teasers is +EV.

I will definitely be looking at them next year. You have me convinced that in the long run they're probably a good play. If I like the other side in a Wong game, I guess I can just pass up the teaser. If I've got the right side more often than not, it will just increase my Wong percentage.
