#388Machine - Thanks so much for taking the time to do all this. Not only are you giving great picks with reliable analysis, you are teaching me to be more responsible with my bankroll. Thank youOriginally posted by Machine ChoiceAfter looking at the World Series matchup in Game 1, I do not see value in taking either team or the total, although I lean under 7.5...I capped it to 6 total runs. Therefore, no play for me....I will wait until football on Thursday night. I am not going to take foolish chances with this win streak. I want to keep it going.Comment -

That's why you should be taken seriously. Your wins speak for themselves, but the fact that you are disciplined in you money makes it obvious you're not a fly by night guy.Originally posted by Machine ChoiceAfter looking at the World Series matchup in Game 1, I do not see value in taking either team or the total, although I lean under 7.5...I capped it to 6 total runs. I am intrigued by this management strategy and will probably use it when I start a new book. Decreasing when you're on a losing streak and increasing on a winning streak is simple, but not many people follow it. And you can fall into danger of capping too many games, this will limit it as well, with one play pending at a time.
Interestingly here are the numbers for HG if you start with $1000 and go on a 30 game winning streak. The interesting thing is that the limit of every even bet is one-third and every odd bet is one-half. Sure that loss would sting, but the money you'd make more than makes up for it.

#403Heaven's Gate is not for people who bet on multiple games at the same time, or for people who are just looking to hit a certain win % and don't care about win streaks.
Under Heaven's Gate, the only way to make real money is to go on winning streaks of 3 or more games at a time. That only happens two ways: 1. limit yourself to the best one or two plays per day, and when I say the best I mean THE BEST. 2. Know how to handicap in the first place.Comment -

#407Looking ahead to Thursday, I see that Criner is listed as questionable, so he'll be gimpy at best. And Arizona is breaking in the new interim coach. Probably too many unknowns on the 'Zona side. And UCLA is using Prince at QB which is typically an auto-fade. I probably will not touch the game.
Shifting to the UCF game, my NCAAF model shows UCF winning by 16 which is right where the number is. It will be hard for me to find any value in that game, but I'll try to find some angles that I haven't see yet.Comment -

#411Sometimes I will play concurrent games if there are two games I simply can't pass on. When that happens, in order to err on the side of caution, I always assume that the first game will result in a loss (for purposes of determining my wager on the other game). If it ends up winning, I raise my next wager by the appropriate amount.Comment -
